"Infrastructure is always a fraught subject in New Jersey. Complaints abound over crumbling roads and bridges, and – especially – transit service. "But all that is changing. When talk turns to infrastructure now, it’s all about the funds flowing to major projects with shovels in the ground. And T&M Associates is the middle of that activity. The Middletown-based civil engineering firm works in transportation, water, health and safety, energy and the environment — quite literally, everything that matters." #civilengineering #commercialrealestate #njrealestate

A lot of work in Civil revolves around creating robust infrastructure that can support the surrounding assets to achieve their purpose 🧱 This particular structure is a key component in a turbine station, where water will flow through and generate sustainable and clean energy that is then transported back to the grid. Albeit a simplified explanation - it just goes to show the diverse impact that civil construction has on the community and society at large. Civil Construction, done right. #civilconstruction #civilengineering #sustainableenergy #cleanpower

What keeps you up at night? For Structural Engineers, it's maintenance on existing infrastructure. According to a survey by the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA), 42% of respondents are worried about the speed of construction projects, while 41% are concerned about deferred structural improvements and repairs. These issues pose significant safety hazards. Aging infrastructure is another major concern, due to climate change. Many structures are surpassing their intended lifespans without proper maintenance. Political cycles often prioritize new projects over maintenance, despite recent federal investments aimed at addressing the infrastructure gap.
The need for speed can lead to problems on projects, engineers say
