We frequently hear from new clients that one of their biggest challenges is getting paid! Yes, in some cases this may become an ongoing battle due to lack of funds but, in most cases, it is just that an invoice is being sent with the hope that the money will land at some point, there is no follow-up! Xero has some great functions available to help get paid faster, including automatic invoice reminders which we love! This is perfect if you feel uncomfortable chasing payment, you customise the reminders and then Xero will send the emails in the background on your specified dates. We have seen that this works for our clients, reducing payment time and improving cash flow! When setting up a budget, the bank accounts now come pre-filled with those from your connected Xero or MYOB account. 😀 Low Effort, High Impact Win for a trade client 😀 Last week we were out on-site helping a trade business improve their systems and build a Lean Finance Function. One of the issues they flagged was that they were taking 5-10 calls a day from clients to process credit card payments for their invoices. They also have large volume, low dollar value invoices in their business - so a decent sized problem. Upon hearing about this pain (or as I call it waste), we set about implementing a solution to their xero file to enable a pay now button that allows for online payment via credit card. This was a fairly straightforward process to establish and they are already seeing benefits since turning it on - within the first week they have had 26 clients use it already (and I believe the client buy-in will only increase)! Not to mention their clients now have an improved customer experience too! The client had been wanting to solve this for a while but was always time poor to setting aside time to get it done - business owners need to make time to work on their business, challenge legacy and step back from the day-to-day! They may even save some time and costs in doing so like this client has done.
