Golden Visa - Will it bring a positive impact to property Industry in Indonesia?
As I engage in numerous discussions with developers and foreign investors in Indonesia, I am happy to share insights about Indonesia’s Golden Visa regulation, opportunities for foreign investors, and global talents.
What is the Golden Visa?
Indonesia’s Golden Visa is a long-term residency program designed to attract significant foreign investment and exceptional talent. Here are the key highlights:
- Eligibility: for Foreign investors, Global talents, Digital nomads, and
Former Indonesian citizens now holding foreign nationality.
- Investment Requirements:
(i) Individual Investors: Minimum investment of $350,000 (approx. IDR 5.6 billion) in government bonds, public company shares, or deposits. This investment grants a visa valid for 5 years.
(ii) Corporate Investors: Companies must invest at least $50 million in Indonesia.
- Validity:
The visa is valid for 5 to 10 years, depending on the investment amount.
- Benefits:
(i) Extended stay periods without frequent renewals.
(ii) Simplified entry and exit from Indonesia.
(iii) No need for a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) at the immigration office.
Why is this important?
The Golden Visa aims to stimulate economic growth for the next 5-10 years, create job opportunities, and facilitate technology transfer. It is a strategic move to enhance Indonesia’s economic stability and attract quality tourists and investors.
We hope this regulation will significantly impact our property industry by attracting more foreign investment and boosting property development. What do you think?
