Are you inside the PB and struggling with your mental health? Here's a suggestion: Skip 1 church meeting every week. Make that your hobby night. Having a hobby is not selfish, its looking after yourself. https://lnkd.in/gwyWZX-G Whether its a solo hobby, or something you share with other family members, make it something simple that you enjoy. Having been inside the PB for most of my life, I know what my reaction would have been: Oh a hobby is a waste of time, I can't afford it, what will people say if I miss a meeting? Put all that aside and start. A hobby doesn't need a purpose. Let it flow, just enjoy the moment. There are thousands of hobby's for you to explore. Some that might be of interest to PB considering the lifestyle constraints are: Writing; fiction, journaling, poetry, history, blogging Drawing Art / Painting Cooking Calligraphy Board & Card Games Electronics & Robotics Computer Programming Woodwork, Metalwork, Artisan Crafts Study (eg specialise in a particular field that you've always been curious about, or do a course) Yoga Meditation Candle Making Sewing & Needlework Music - learn an instrument, singing, composition Gardening Photography & Photo Editing Filming & Animation Learn a language Jigsaw Puzzles Lego Sculpting Origami Pottery Weaving Models & Scale Miniature Building Vehicle Restoration RC Cars, Drones, Rocketry etc Sport (limited options for this one unfortunately) Stargazing Genealogy #DrawYourOwnConclusions #DontLiveByDefault

What is the difference between a Hobby and a Habit? Hobby vs Habit Hobby: A hobby is something you do for fun, for pleasure, for amusement. It entertains you and that’s mostly why you do it. It’s light, a distraction, a fancy, a whim. Some examples of hobbies might be mushroom foraging, puzzles, knitting, fixing cars, refinishing furniture or collecting antiques. HABIT: A habit is a pattern (good or bad) that you repeated in order to acquire. It’s an activity done over and over to the point that you don’t think about it. You don’t ask yourself if you want to do it. It sort of gets done. Some examples of habits might be brushing your teeth, exercising, smoking after a big meal, having dessert, going to bed at a certain time.. It’s important to keep in mind that what to you might seem like a hobby - a light, amusing way to pass the time - to another person might be a central pursuit.

Day 8: Favorite Hobby Today, I'm feeling nostalgic about my childhood hobby - art and crafts! I used to love drawing, crocheting bags, and beading…. You name it! I even remember making a toy from my old dress once! As I grew up, things changed, and my hobbies evolved. Now, my hobbies depend on my mood. Some days, I enjoy surfing the internet and discovering new things. Other days, I love cooking and trying out new recipes. There's something therapeutic about trying out new recipes and experimenting with different flavors and ingredients. And, as my job requires me to read and write every day, I've grown to enjoy that too! As someone with OCD, I’ve also come to realize that arranging and organizing are also therapeutic for me. It's amazing how our interests and passions can evolve over time, but the joy and fulfillment they bring remain the same. What about you - have your hobbies changed over time, or have you stuck to the same ones? Let me know in the comments! 🤭 Happy new week y’all. #day8of24 #24daycountdown #hobbies #artandcrafts #cooking #internet_surfing #reading #writing #selfcare #mentalhealth #personalgrowth #nostalgia #childhoodmemories #letsconnect #linkedin

Do hobbies make any difference? Well…I’ve seen hobbies are the first thing to go out of the window when life gets real busy with office and day-to-day chores. However, it is found that participating in hobbies and taking out sometime doing what you love has a positive impact on your overall happiness, health and even performance. Be it hiking, cooking, sketching, journaling, painting, playing a musical instruments or even meditating, hobby is something that we love to do without holding ourselves back! Not only hobbies help us relieve stress but also it gives us clarity with our thoughts and an opportunity to look at life from different perspectives. If you are working 5-6 days a week, spending just an hour a week on your hobby can bring a lot diffence to your life. For me, sketching and reading has done miracles, and I make sure I spend at least 3 hours a week doing things what I love. Still not convinced? Try it yourself and I hope you find your way out to your hobbies and a better life. Good Luck, Happy Hobbying 😉

During the weekend, I took a break from the digital world and reconnected with my childhood hobby - painting. The feeling of dipping the brush into vivid colors and watching them come alive on canvas was therapeutic. In our busy lives, it's easy to forget about these small joys that bring us immense happiness. We often sideline our hobbies for work, responsibilities or just out of sheer laziness. But let me tell you something - your hobbies are not just pastime activities; they are an integral part of who you are. Indulging in a hobby is like nourishing your soul. It takes you back to your true self, away from the hustle-bustle of life. So no matter how packed your schedule is, make sure to carve out some time for what makes you happy and keeps you grounded. Hobbies can be anything – painting like me, reading books, gardening or even stargazing! All that matters is that it should resonate with YOU. Life isn't just about working hard but also about living well. So pick up that old guitar lying in the corner or dust off those dancing shoes – it’s time to reconnect with yourself! Do you agree? #socialmediamarketing #story #inspiration #hobbies

Why Hobbies Matter We live in a world obsessed with productivity—every minute accounted for, every activity expected to yield some measurable result. But here’s a thought: not everything in life needs to be productive. Enter hobbies. Real, genuine hobbies that you do simply because they bring you joy, with no expectation of making money or becoming the best at them. For me, it's pottery. I’m not the next great ceramic artist, but there’s something about working with clay that calms my mind. It doesn’t matter if the pot is slightly wonky or if I never sell a single piece. Hobbies are about the process, about losing yourself in something you love. They remind us that life isn't just about ticking off achievements—it's also about finding moments of pure, simple enjoyment. If you don’t have a hobby, find one. Do something for no other reason than it makes you smile. Whether it’s knitting, gardening, or drawing terrible stick figures, let yourself enjoy something just for you. Because, sometimes, joy itself is the best outcome. #Leadershipcoaching #Leadershiptherapy #Executivetherapy #Leadershipdevelopment #mariwilliamsthemindarchitect #leadership

I love finding new ways to use old ideas! You’ve probably heard of toy rotation systems for kids - but why not apply this idea to yourself? If you’re someone with lots of hobbies (and all the gear that comes with them), this is for you. Even though life gets busy and you may not have had much time for leisure lately, it’s understandable if you hesitate to put your hobby items away. After all, the odds of digging them out when the rare trifecta of free time, energy, and motivation aligns can feel slim. That’s where a hobby rotation comes in! You may be doing it with some seasonal hobbies already. I first learned about this concept in Judith Kolberg and Dr. Kathleen Nadeau's book, ADD-Friendly Ways to Organize Your Life. Here’s how it works: 1. Choose one hobby you'd like to focus on the next time you have free time. 2. Pack away the rest—but not permanently, just for now. 3. If you like variety, you could pick an indoor hobby AND an outdoor hobby to rotate. 4. Decide in advance how long you’ll stick with each hobby. When that time is up, pack it away and switch to a different one. This way, you’ll always have a fresh activity to look forward to, without unnecessary clutter taking over your space. #SimplifyYourSpace #EasyOrganizing #KohlerandCompany
