As leaders, how often do we stop to consider the difference between our intent and its impact? We may intend to give constructive feedback, but if the impact is demoralizing or alienating, what have we really accomplished? In today's workplace, leadership isn't just about our intentions—it's about how those intentions are received. Your team doesn’t feel your intent—they experience your impact. And if we were to be honest, we rarely clearly state what our intention is when speaking with others. The gap between what we mean and how it's felt can be vast. Are we bridging that gap effectively? When you focus only on what you meant to do or say, you risk overlooking how your words and actions actually land on others. This disconnect can breed disengagement, frustration, and missed opportunities for growth. But when you prioritize impact?
