TRYING TO BUILD A PLANE…WHILE FLYING …this is what I was trying to say, but got my words caught. As founders, Marisa, Teddie and me are not professional managers nor are we seasoned F&B veterans. Building PerfectTed in this phase of insane growth has truly been like building a plane while flying it - but we are in pitch black darkness, we’re not pilots nor engineers, the plane keeps getting bigger and there are other, more expensive planes around us watching and hoping the plane slows down (sad but true). The challenge is huge. The ambition of our team is incredible. And we are acquiring the tools, but the journey is turbulent (nice pun). Side note - for founders struggling to see the wood from the trees - At my last company I’ll never forget being annoyed because I felt one of our systems could have been better and then Hugo Conceição Silva turning round to me and saying “dude, you don’t realise how much better this is than it was 2 years ago”. I remember thinking that this was BS, but he was so right… success is relative and you need to remember where you came from to put where you are now/going into perspective. Building a business is hard - that’s why most fail and many aren’t crazy enough to start. But if it’s getting complex and you feel out of your depth… it means you’re flying. Now keep building. Okay. I’m done rambling. Have a nice Friday.

A lot of people think we founders have it all figured out but the majority of the time we're literally learning as we go. We are trying to figure it out just like you.

If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re too small!
‘Build a plane while you’re flying it’ might just be the best analogy for entrepreneurs of all time Levi!!
Have a great flight!! 💚🍵💚
Love the honesty here—building something from the ground up is a rollercoaster, especially when you’re still figuring out the tools and methods as you go. The image of building a plane mid-flight really hits home; it’s chaotic, unpredictable, and there’s no manual, but that’s the beauty of it, right?
Facts Facts Facts! Your journey is absolutely incredible (can't wait to get my hands on the PerfectTed machine and matcha for Christmas) and such a pleasure to cheer along to! I love looking back at old photos or journals to help conceptualise what growth actually has been/looks like - crazy what can happen in 6 months much less 2 years!
The more founders I speak and work with, the more I realise we are all just figuring it out as we go. You can only do your best 🚀
