Intermediate check in ISO/IEC 17025 Let say you calibrate your lab equipment and set for 2 years interval in your equipment calibration program, how sure you are that your equipment is working fine between this 2 years interval? That's when the intermediate check plays a vital role for you. In the past it is referred as 'verification' but due to the wide meaning of this term, so now it is referred as 'intermediate check'. Basically it is an act of conformance to your equipment's functionality according your test methods. How frequent you need to do this can be based on how frequent you use that particular equipment. Mostly would be monthly. Previously I thought when I sent my equipment to calibrate annually, there's no need to perform intermediate check.
