IKEA’s first-ever Christmas campaign hit different. Forget the cosy festive vibes. Forget peaceful music and warm family scenes. They brought grime music to the Christmas table. In their 2019 "Silence the Critics" ad, IKEA turned the usual holiday formula on its head. Here’s why it worked: ➡️ The grime track SLAPPED. ➡️ It solved a REAL problem. ➡️ It broke the Christmas mould. ➡️ It stayed true to the brand. The ad featured D Double E rapping about the state of someone’s home. It was raw, bold, and totally unexpected for a Christmas ad. It made people sit up and pay attention.
