Be under no illusion, behind the scenes, there are an army of behavioural & consumer psychologists out to get your children. 🚨 They - the attention vultures - are creating addiction by design, in order to exploit developmentally vulnerable children, and lull them into exchanging their childhood for consumerhood, en masse, in order to maximise profit margins. 🤑 Take Rene Rechtman who is the founder and CEO of Moonbug Entertainment that owns CoComelon Playdate for example, leading companies that actively use the very same highly unethical tactics as the gambling industry for adults, gleefully thrusting them upon unsuspecting babies & children. 🤦 Is there really any wonder that increasing numbers of children are growing up with ADHD symptoms, unable to concentrate properly in schools for eg, when their most formative neurodevelopmental years, are saturated with poisonous trance enducing content? Content that traps them into a funnell of hyper engagement, draining their natural interest in the real world. 😵💫 As usual, children - the future of society for all, and the real victims in all this - are being harmed right before our very eyes, by those making gigantic profits. 🫡 LinkedIn LinkedIn News LinkedIn News Europe LinkedIn News Australia LinkedIn News India LinkedIn News UK LinkedIn News Asia LinkedIn News Middle East Neuroscience News #Tech #DigitalPoison #Play #Development #Relationships #Parents #Children #Education #School #Teachers #Future #Success #Tips #Linkedin #MentalHealth #Wellbeing #Safeguarding #ChildProtection
The goal of most TV shows in our childhood was to “entertain kids & maybe teach them some educational stuff or basic moral values” and then evolved to that plus “…and sell them TOYS!!” But now, the goal is “use any tactic we can devise to capture as much of their daily attention as possible because increasing the daily viewing time is how we make money.” It’s a very VERY different thing.
Oh my God, this is horrendous. I mean I know we all know the theme tunes to childhood shows...but this is beyond next level...
While this is always good to talk about, linking TV shows to ADHD is theoretical at best. To my knowledge, there is no proof that specific content causes ADHD or related symptoms. Even the "brief attention span" or lack of self-control in children is largely overestimated or non existent (children today react ti the marshmallow test differently it's true: they have a longer self-control than those in the 50s). If programs full of good content like sesame street attract attention, that's very welcomed. Content over everything.
Society must critically examine the media we consume, the content allowed for our children, the creators behind it, and its overall impact on us. Is it merely a coincidence that the same individuals providing this viewing content often face widespread criticism for unethical practices? Consider Mark Randolph, co-founder of Netflix, who is also the nephew of Edward Bernays, the acclaimed public relations pioneer and nephew of Sigmund Freud. Is this connection merely coincidental? 🤔
This post is such a wake-up call! 🚨 The idea that the same tactics used in the gambling industry are being directed toward children is both alarming and heartbreaking. It’s a stark reminder of the responsibility we all have to safeguard their development and ensure they grow up with a love for the real world, not just screens. Thank you for shedding light on this critical issue—conversations like these are the first step towards change! 🌱
When people tell me, but we watched television growing up and we turned out OK. I say, but the technology that is out there today has attention engineers on the other side that are purposely tracking and manipulating us Liam!
Oh Lordy, it’s appalling!
