However, many make these common mistakes: 1. Skipping the Portfolio Review: Have you checked their previous work? Every designer has a unique style. Make sure their past projects align with the vision you have for your space. 2. Ignoring Client Reviews: Have you read what others are saying? Client reviews provide valuable insights into the designer’s communication skills, professionalism, and reliability. Don’t overlook this! 3. Unclear Budgeting: Have you established a clear budget? Without setting financial boundaries, you might face unexpected costs later. Be upfront about your budget to avoid surprises. 4. Neglecting Personality Fit: Can you communicate well with your designer? A great designer should not only match your style but also be someone you enjoy collaborating with. It’s a relationship! 5. Rushing the Decision: Are you taking your time? Don’t feel pressured to hire the first designer you meet. Compare options to ensure you’ve found the best fit for your project. In interior design, as in any creative field, there are habits that can enhance your process and result in successful outcomes, as well as habits that can cause setbacks and lead to less than satisfactory results. Here are some good habits we practice at our studio: ✅ Research – We obsess over research. Our team continuously researches trends, materials, and techniques to stay updated with the latest innovations and inspirations in the industry. ✅ Attention to Detail – Paying attention to even the smallest details can make a significant difference in the overall look and feel of a space. We are meticulous in their approach, ensuring every aspect of a design is carefully considered and executed to perfection. ✅ Collaboration – Interior design often involves collaboration with clients, contractors, artisans, and other vendors. We work hard to foster positive working relationships with all parties involved, effectively communicate our ideas, and show appreciation for the expertise of others. What are some good habits you expect from your interior designer? 🤔 #cincinnatiinteriordesigner #cincinnatismallbusiness #cincinnatiinfluencers #goodhabits #smalldetails #intheindustry

As an interior designer, I often find myself at crossroads: should I embrace the latest design trends, or stay true to my niche? It’s a question that many of us in the creative field grapple with, and there’s no right answer. Following trends are exciting! They bring fresh ideas, innovative materials, and new perspectives to the table. Staying up-to-date with what’s popular can make your designs relevant and appealing to a broader audience. Trends can push you out of your comfort zone, inspiring you to experiment and grow. However, trends are fleeting. What’s in vogue today might be outdated tomorrow. On the other hand, focusing on a niche helps you carve out a distinct identity in the crowded design landscape. Specializing in a particular style or approach allows you to hone your skills and become an expert in that area. So, should we follow trends or stick to our niche? I believe the answer lies in finding a balance. Embrace trends that resonate with your core style and values. Incorporate elements that can enhance your niche without compromising your identity.
