A recent survey revealed: • Popular tipping: 77% of Canadians are comfortable tipping at sit-down restaurants, with tipping also common in salons, hotels, taxis, and food delivery—but not as much in retail or fast food. • Takeout tipping isn’t the norm: The majority don’t think tips are necessary for takeout, fast food, grocery pick-up, or retail purchases. • “Tip-flation”: While more businesses are requesting tips, Canadians are holding firm at the 15% standard.
