Liebherr - With over 130 companies and 11 divisions, this Swiss-German entity is one of the great European industrial success stories. Many are familiar with their omnipresent cranes, but unaware of their important role in aircraft manufacture or refrigerators to mention just a couple of examples. The company is strongly held by one inter-generational family which is one pillar of their success and another pillar is the comparative lack of government over-regulation when compared with the automotive sector, for example. Old Europe still has what it takes when it comes to major league industry - we haven´t lost it all just yet! If we can get the new generations as interested in Titans of Industry as they are in Influencers and Musicians, we will have little to worry about. A great wave of reactionary reindustrialization in Europe is just around the corner to remediate decades of deindustrialization and it will be fascinating to spot the new up and coming Captains of Industry!
