🤸♂️ March 2024 confirms Liege Airport's excellent start to the year, with tonnage up 16% on March 2023 (104,080 tons vs. 90,097 tons). This increase in volumes outstrips the trend in global demand of 11%. ✈ Number of cargo aircraft movements rose by 8% compared with the same period in 2023. 🌚 Number of night flights was 12% down in comparison to March 2023 (860 movements vs. 981 movements) ☀ While daytime movements grew by 26%. #Airports #Cargo #logistics

Italian airline Neos has announced a partnership with New York's JFK Airport's New Terminal One (NTO), set to open in 2026. Neos currently operates flights to JFK from Milan and Palermo, and will transition to the new terminal, which aims to modernize and enhance passenger experience at JFK. ### Key Points: - **Current Operations:** Neos operates three weekly flights from Milan Malpensa and twice weekly from Palermo, using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners configured for 359 passengers. - **Terminal Details:** The New Terminal One is part of JFK's $19 billion redevelopment, designed to accommodate major international airlines like Air France, KLM, and Korean Air. - **Future Ambitions:** The terminal, spanning 2.6 million square feet, aims to be one of the top five Skytrax-rated terminals globally by 2030. American Airlines is confident in transatlantic demand remaining strong next summer, especially to core leisure markets like Athens and Rome, SVP of Network Planning Brian Znotins told me. The airline will add five new transatlantic routes for summer 2025: • Chicago O'Hare-Madrid (complementing Iberia’s existing flight) from March • Philadelphia-Edinburgh and Milan Malpensa from May • Charlotte-Athens from June • Miami-Rome from July On American's Airbus A321XLR introduction, Znotins said the planes will be used to replace the A321T on premium transcontinental domestic flights first — and then introduced to transatlantic flights sometime after that. #airlines https://lnkd.in/eq4GSaG4

PEAK SEASON IS WAVING! Christmas is fast approaching, and so is increased demand during the holiday season as several airlines gauge their flights into bigger aircraft. One example is China Airlines, which sends its Boeing 777-300ER to Manila for selected dates this December 2024. The Boeing 777-300ER seats about 40-50 more passengers than the regular Airbus A330-300 utilized on the route, enabling China Airlines to transport more passengers to and from Manila. B-18001 is a Boeing 777-300ER delivered to China Airlines in May 2015. The aircraft is configured to carry 358 passengers, with 40 Business Class seats, 62 Premium Economy, and 256 Economy Class seats. The aircraft flies mostly on the airline's long-haul flights along with several short-haul routes around Asia. The first two months of 2024 confirm the robustness of Liege Airport's model, with an increase in the number of flights (+15%) and tonnage (+13%) compared with the same period in 2023. 💪 Cargo aircraft movements increased by 15% compared with the same period in 2023 : 4,147 movements versus 3,609 movements. 💪 Freight traffic rose by 13% : 175,593 tonnes versus 155,017 tonnes. https://lnkd.in/ex5tWxgU ⏲ The evolution of day/night movements from 2021 to 2023? Air China to Launch Beijing–Xi’an–Minsk Route - Air China is set to introduce a new route connecting Beijing Capital to Minsk, with a stopover in Xi’an. The route, scheduled to commence operations on 28 December 2024, will be serviced by the Airbus A330-200. - https://lnkd.in/d4Ysz7Mk
