Join us as we read through one of the most misunderstood books of the New Testament, the book of James. Sometimes called the "how to" manual of Christianity or the New Testament book of Proverbs. Although I would tell you that both those descriptions fall utterly short...this deals with real practical life issues, but has a cohesive theme through out the letter. #bible, #thebible, #biblestudy, #biblereading, #bibleverse, #scripture, #scripturestudy, #scripturereading, #newtestament, #gospel, #gospelinallscripture, #Jesus, #JesusChrist, #Christ, #Messiah, #Yeshua, #God, #Elohim, #Elohym, #Yaweh, #Jehovah, #HolySpirit #grace, #hope, #salvation, #faith, #truth, #righteous, #love, #peace, #joy, #christian, #christianliving, #christianmotivation, #seekersandbelievers, #james https://lnkd.in/euidFYs9

Lessons Learned in 2024: To Reassess - Your problems are not rooted in people, places, or things, they are rooted in your fears, understand that your problems only exist to reinforce your fears, if you conquer your fears, you Open Up The Way to solve your problems. Lessons Learned in 2024: To Reimagine - Know that your inquisitiveness about the world and you are a good thing. If we never question anything, there is no way to learn anything; never fear asking or seeking answers to what you know and do not know, the power is in the question, and seeking the answer is foundational to revelation. Reverence: Renewing a Forgotten Virtue Book by Paul Woodruff (2001) who was an American classicist and professor of philosophy at The University of Texas at Austin. In his book Reverence, he instructs us on the concept of reverence, a virtue he argues is necessary for a meaningful and ethical life. He describes reverence as a way of engaging in prosocial actions with the physical environment and others in our social environment. Reverence involves a profound respect associated with love, humility, devotion, and awe. He informs us that we need to cultivate these behaviors and values, since engaging in those prosocial behaviors lead to a deeper understanding of the environment in which we live and encourage us to act with compassion, empathy, and moral integrity. He gives us examples from history, philosophy, and other cultures to demonstrate the significance of engaging in the behavior of being reverent in different contexts and the potential to shape our relationships with nature, society, and God. He argues that practicing reverence can enrich our lives, increase our interconnectedness with others and physical world that can reinforce us leading a more meaningful, reverent and ethical lives. Learning to be reverent beings in childhood, within the family, and reinforced by the process of being educated. Once you get it, you can be reverent for life!

I am reading again The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Day 20 has some great lessons about Restoring Broken Fellowship. "Emphasize reconciliation, not resolution. It is unrealistic to expect everyone to agree about everything. Reconciliation focuses on the relationship, while resolution focuses on the problem. When we focus on reconciliation, the problem loses significance and often becomes irrelevant. We can reestablish a relationship even when we are unable to resolve our differences. Christians often have legitimate, honest disagreements and differing opinions, but we can disagree without being disagreeable. The same diamond looks different from different angles. God expects unity, not uniformity, and we can walk arm-in-arm without seeing eye-to-eye on every issue." There are some great lessons in this book, and I would highly recommend it. Have a great day, https://lnkd.in/gRKdQcGA
