🧪 Skip the Business Plan: Here's How to Validate New Products in 14 Days Forget 50-page business plans. Here's the exact rapid experimentation framework we use with our clients: The 14-Day Test Sprint: Week 1: Customer Discovery 🎯 Day 1-2: • List 30 potential clients from your network • Draft one simple value proposition • No fancy pitch decks! Day 3-4: • Send 10 simple messages: "I'm exploring [solution] for [problem]. Would you share your thoughts over coffee?" • Book 5 conversations Day 5-7: • Have those conversations • Don't sell - just listen • Take notes on their exact words Week 2: Micro-Testing 💡 Day 8-9: • Create ONE simple offer based on those conversations • Price it at 2x what feels comfortable • Write a 3-line pitch Day 10-12: • Reach out to 20 new potential clients • Share your specific offer • Aim for 3 paid pilot commitments Day 13-14: • Get first payment (yes, real money!) • Start delivering value • Document learnings 💭 Key Insight: Your network will give you honest feedback IF you approach them as an explorer, not a salesperson. ⚡️ Remember: • Perfect pitch = Procrastination • Real customers > Beautiful plans • Fast failure = Fast learning What product or business idea could you test in the next 14 days?

I had a great conversation this week with @dianneschmidtkelley about the 3 P's of succession planning: Profit, People, and Process. If you're considering the next chapter of your business, whether that is selling it, passing it on to a family member, or just leveling up, your process is one of the most important pieces that you need to have nailed down. Because if it isn't documented, it doesn't exist! Here are a few quick tips to help you get started: 1. Make a map - Using a pen and paper or a service like @mural.co , sit down with your people and map out exactly what's happening right now. 2. Define what is documented - Once you have the map, use it to determine what is and isn't documented or up to date. 3. Get started with documentation - empower your team to start documenting on their own. Whether it's in Google Drive or @trainual , your team can help you to get it all down on (virtual) paper. If you need help, we'd be happy to jump in with you! (Check out the actual client process map below.) #processmapping #process #businessoperations #efficiency

It was the small things that used to wear me down. Death by a thousand cuts. If there’s something you do in your business more than once (which is most things, I imagine!), then you should document that as a process. By documenting the steps in a process you’ve started on your journey to efficient operations which don’t depend on individuals (like you!). You don’t have to spend any time thinking about how to do something. You can easily delegate that task to someone else, now that the process is clearly defined. Other people, new starts and old hands alike, don’t have to continually ask you how to do something. You can be sure it’s done right every time. By documenting it, you’ll spot steps which can be improved, or perhaps removed altogether. Of course, one process on its own might not seem like a whole lot of use… but it’s a start. And you have to start somewhere. Whether it's a 1-hour practical intro, or a dedicated 1-day workshop, there'll be something I can do right now, today, to help you unlock this key step to efficiency. Every small piece of work that stage landed has led to additional projects, expanded scope, and deeper relationships. As you develop your book of #business, be encouraged that every small matter can build up to bigger, more complex, and more sophisticated deals. There is often a tendency to avoid volume work or lower-fee projects due to well....the sheer volume, but it can be a good strategy as you get started and get your footing. Don't underestimate the little things that can add up. If you need help deciding whether to take on a small project, reach out and I'll send you our decision tree. #stage
