On this #WorldMentalHealthDay2024, I am continuing to put all my trust in the Lord. ✨ Some days are hard. Plain & simple. And you know what, that’s okay. It’s okay to acknowledge when it’s hard. It’s also okay to not be okay all the time. Slowly, but surely, I am finding that out each day. 💜 This morning, I woke up to the immediate thought of needing to get into the Word. I have been feeling overwhelmed. I’ve been a little too short with my boys. And I haven’t shown up exactly as my best self. I have acknowledged that. I took accountability for what I could: taking my medication, eating healthy foods, sleeping well, balancing work & life, & I found that I needed to leave the rest to God. To put my full trust in Him. ❤️🩹 Friends, he knows the outcome for us. He’s planned it. Why do we spend so much of our time worrying about what’s next when He’s already paved the way? 👣 He knew I needed Him this morning. To rest in His word. To surrender my heart to Him. To trust in His plan. ✝️ Friends, it’s hard to trust in God’s plan for us. But let me tell you, when we do, the most amazing things can happen. ✨ Join me in supporting others in their journey to freedom & redemption. Make your story known. Share in the great moments & the not so great. Lift the shame. Hey, we’re all human here, so why not acknowledge that some days are just plain hard. That acknowledgement could create lifelong friendship & community. 💜 #WorldMentalHealthDay #createjoy #liftshame #buildcommunity #mentalhealthmatters

The holiday season is a time for joy, but it can also bring a lot of stress, especially for families. Explore a few ways to keep balanced during this time of year. 1. Rather than buy gifts, make them or vocalize them. At AKA, we love to create, make, and give. Try art to relax your central nervous system and create something new. 2. Serve. Find someone who could use extra support during the holidays and be their support. It might be driving someone to the airport or volunteering at a local soup kitchen. 3. Make space for healing. Trauma disconnects us from ourselves and our purpose. Use the holidays as a time to recognize a traumatic experience and begin the healing process. 4. Spend time. Enjoy your family and the people who love and encourage you in this life. Remember, there are all kinds of families - a family is simply a group of people who care and want the greatest good for your life. They show up when you need them and celebrate you as a human being with unique gifts and talents. Learn more: https://linktr.ee/aka_pllc #AKA #MaintainingBalance #MentalHealth #HolidaySeason #Healing

Reduce the Christmas stress... Cut down the ‘to do’ list. There’s just so much we have to do at Christmas time, right? Wrong! The question to ask yourself here is ‘what will happen if I don’t do this?’ If the answer is anything less than COMPLETE DISASTER, consider removing it from the list. The aim here is to cut down on the amount you have to do at Christmas by realising that you don’t actually have to do all those things. #Christmas #ChristmasStress #StressFreeChristmas #Wellbeing #MentalHealth #SelfCare #SelfHelp
