🟠 Wine has a consumption pattern based on moderation and accompanying meals, and this is key to understanding its potential effects on health. 🍷 Ursula Fradera spoke to us about all of this during her participation in the international Lifestyle, Diet, Wine, and Health Congress held in Toledo in October 2023. Scientific coordinator of the Wine Information Council and the Wine in Moderation Association, Ursula Fradera also collaborates as an expert on the OIV - International Organisation of Vine and Wine's 'Safety and Health' Commission. 🎥 https://lnkd.in/g_GNdDNC #scientificevidence #science #LifestyleDietAndWine2023 #ScientificCongress

Recently, I have been reflecting on some of the challenges that our wine sector will face. The combination of wine and health is crucial and deserves particular attention. I read an interesting article by Roberta Garibaldi on VinoNews24, which highlighted how almost half of the respondents consider wine harmful to health. This fact made me think about how important it is to educate and inform correctly about the benefits and risks of wine. Education and information are key to debunking myths and promoting conscious and moderate consumption. We must better communicate the benefits of wine, such as its potential contribution to cardiovascular health when consumed responsibly, but also be clear about the risks of excessive consumption. In addition, it is interesting to note how perceptions vary between generations. Young adults tend to see wine as more harmful than younger people. This suggests that we need to adapt our communication to address the specific concerns of different age groups. Continuing to invest in research and innovation, as well as improving our communication strategies, will be essential to address these challenges and ensure a prosperous future for our industry. #casere #aziendagricolacasere #news #wine

Wizard of Lightbulb Moments: The article highlights a surprising twist—many patients are consuming more calories, not less, while on weight loss drugs. This underscores a crucial insight: these drugs don’t change underlying eating behaviors, making rebound weight gain inevitable if the medication is stopped. It's a clear reminder that sustainable weight management goes beyond medication alone. Follow me for more insights. #FoodIndustry #Trends #WeightLossDrugs #ConsumerBehavior #HealthInsights #CulinaryTides #Ozempic Here is a glimpse of this trend: People May Eat More Calories After Stopping Weight Loss Drugs A survey conducted by Deutsche Bank suggests that individuals might increase their calorie intake after discontinuing weight loss medications. Among respondents still on medication, around 30% reported eating "a little less," and 22% said they were eating "a lot less. However, 17% mentioned consuming "a lot more," while 18% indicated consuming "a little more." However, among those who had stopped using GLP-1 medication, there was a significant reversal, with a net 30% stating they were now consuming more calories than before starting the medication. Wizard of Lightbulb Moments: The study "Consumer perceptions unwrapped: ultra-processed foods" unveils a significant concern among consumers regarding the health implications of ultra-processed foods (UPFs). A substantial majority believe UPFs are linked to future health issues like obesity, diabetes, and general unhealthiness. This dual concern for personal health and environmental impact raises important questions about consumer behavior and the broader implications of food choices. It underscores the need for clearer education about the health and environmental impacts of UPFs, as well as potential shifts in consumer preferences towards more sustainable and health-conscious options. Here is a glimpse of this trend: Consumers Believe Ultra-Processed Foods Are Damaging To Health And Environment A study titled "Consumer perceptions unwrapped: ultra-processed foods" revealed that 65% of respondents believe UPFs are unhealthy and can lead to health problems later in life. The World Health Organization has said "no amount of alcohol is safe"—ignoring what scientific research has shown. Influencing this organization are temperance, anti-alcohol organizations. Felicity Carter discovered who those organizations are, their motives, and what that means for the wine industry. Read the full story in our April issue, or at the link below. Tomorrow, we'll post another article that looks into why no real research has been done on alcohol—the benefits, side effects, or otherwise—and our health. https://lnkd.in/g29tPHqJ #winebusines #wineindustry #health #WHO #wineunderattack #wine #business
