The AI Revolution Meets Women’s Wellbeing: Why Both Matter for Success At the recent Gartner ReimagineHR Conference, there was a huge focus on AI. Understandably so—AI offers incredible opportunities to reshape how we work, drive efficiency, and foster innovation. The benefits of embracing and optimising this technology are immense. But as I listened, I couldn’t help but reflect on the area I’m so passionate about: women’s health. Here’s the thing—most men, and even many women, don’t fully understand the critical role hormones play in a woman’s well-being and performance at work. And it got me thinking about the parallels between AI and women’s health. The AI Parallel: To get the most out of AI, we need: 1. An understanding of how it works**—the algorithms, models, and data flows. 2. High-quality inputs—garbage in, garbage out. 3. Intentional interpretation of outputs—context and understanding are everything. Now think about women’s health: - Understanding the model: Women’s hormonal rhythms and stages are complex but foundational to how we function—impacting energy, focus, mood, and resilience. - Quality inputs: Nutrition, sleep, movement, and recovery are the “data” that fuel optimal performance and wellbeing. - Interpreting outputs: When a woman struggles with focus, poor energy, reactivity, absenteeism, mood changes etc understanding the hormonal lens can help interpret and address those changes, not judge or dismiss them. The Opportunity? Women make up approx 50% of the global population and approx 39.9% of the global workforce. Supporting women’s health is not just a “nice-to-have”—it’s a business imperative. Imagine applying the same intentionality we dedicate to maximising AI’s potential to optimising women’s health in the workplace. Investing in understanding and supporting women’s hormonal health: - Enhances wellbeing and performance. - Boosts innovation and creativity, especially when diverse perspectives are critical. - Creates a win-win: women thrive, businesses thrive, and society thrives. We’re pouring billions into understanding AI and unlocking its capabilities. Why not apply the same focus to women’s health? By creating environments that educate, support and empower women and men in the area of women's health, we unlock the full potential of women. This benefs individuals, teams, and organisations. If your organisation is ready to take meaningful action to support women’s health and wellbeing, let’s talk! My workshops and programs are designed to educate, inspire, and empower women to optimise their health and thrive—both personally and professionally. We are so glad to announce our latest issue of the Ziva Voices - Magazine. This time on the topic of health and wellness. Too often, wellness is reduced to spa days and surface-level self-care— oftentimes luxuries that seem out of reach for many women. But true wellness is far more profound and essential. It’s not an indulgence; it’s a necessity. It’s not about surviving; it’s about thriving – spiritually, mentally, and physically. Did you know that the World Health Organization defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” ? This holistic view forms the foundation of our approach to wellness in this issue. Let's dive in 👇 https://lnkd.in/gxpp-Qrk #womeninmedia #womensstories #wellness

Taking care of one's body and mind is important, but it's crucial to scrutinize the wellness industry's appropriation of these principles for profit, often at the expense of people's well-being. For example, we've witnessed a proliferation of restrictive diet trends promoted by celebrities, influencers, and chefs, ranging from clean eating to juice-only diets. Without expert guidance, these, often expensive, diets can pose significant health risks, including negative consequences for heart and kidney function, hormone imbalances, and the development of eating disorders, which have alarming mortality rates, particularly among young people. Moreover, the wellness industry often equates moral virtue with participation, fostering a culture of elitism and shame for those who don't adhere. This exclusivity disproportionately affects marginalized groups, such as women of colour, Indigenous women, trans women, queer women, and individuals with disabilities or neurodiverse individuals, who are often side-lined by the expensive, time-consuming nature of wellness practices. While prioritising health and wellbeing is commendable, we must question who can afford to participate in this wellness lifestyle and why. Is it truly about wellness, or does it perpetuate socioeconomic disparities?

Shout out to Inshorts as we partner for Women's Wellness. In the last 12 months at Gytree, we have innovated on how best to deliver care for women's health- we have had the opportunity to partner with a large number of progressive companies to provide bespoke health services to the female employees. People are spending a majority of their time working, or at work, and it's time that employers find cost-effective solutions for employee well-being, which promise high utilisation. We recently worked with InShorts, and had the opportunity to move the needle for women's health. 🙌 A user after taking our preventive body check up realised she is pre-diabetic and by following a practical diet plan our Nutritionist, she not only lost 4 kgs but also her sugar is back to normal. 🙌 Another user, after liking our program, bought a preventive check package for her mother. The findings resulted in a very timely surgery that prevented a major health issue. 🙌 Many users opted for Therapy/ counselling for the first time and felt a remarkable difference in managing stress and anxiety in a single 60 mins session. This moved the needle for their productivity, and prevented absenteeism. For women especially this matters even more, because women change approximately 3-4 gynaecs before finding the right fit, and spend at an average of 4-5 years with a misdiagnosis or a lack of diagnosis. If you are a progressive company, and looking for smart and efficient ways to help employee health, reach out to me and let's speak :) Gytree Inshorts

1moSuper interesting article! Your findings are completely in line with what we are seeing and trying to spread awareness around. Let me know if you’d like to partner up with us 👍 51.9% of respondents would be willing to quit their jobs for one that offers practices and policies to better manage hormonal health. This finding is not just a statistic; it reflects a growing demand for workplaces to address the unique health needs. …The absence of such support is not just a missed opportunity; it is a critical oversight that can lead to decreased productivity, higher absenteeism, and ultimately, a loss of valuable talent. …The data also showed that 83.9% of women admitted to continuing work despite feeling unwell due to menstrual symptoms.
