The age-tech industry focuses on two core audiences: older adults and their adult children. However, most marketing messages target the latter: "Help your parents live better." This sidelines the most important voice: That of the older adults themselves. Old doesn’t mean helpless. Nor does it mean "Venmo less" either. Older adults are not passive recipients of care. They are active, capable individuals who deserve to shape their future. The conversation must start with them—not around them, not about them, but with them. Family and caregivers play vital roles—but think of this as a wheel: The older adult is the hub. Family and caregivers are the spokes. When the spokes align with the hub, the wheel turns smoothly, empowering the older adult to thrive. Without the hub, the wheel cannot function. At SeniorThrive, we share a different narrative: Recognizing the roles of family and caregivers. Always focusing on where it belongs: the older adult. Aging isn’t about stepping back. It’s about thriving forward. Older adults deserve respect, tools, and a voice—because this is their journey to lead. When we support them, we all thrive. #agetech #agingwell #postiveaging #activeaging #seniorthrive

There’s a steady, troubling trend that’s changing the way America’s kids live: They’re spending increasingly more time indoors and inactive. Why it matters: Time spent playing outside comes with a host of physical and mental health benefits that today’s kids need. America's child obesity rate has tripled since the 1970s, per CDC data. Screen time — and the anxiety that comes with it — is on the rise. 🧮 By the numbers: Today's kids spend an average of just four to seven minutes playing outside, the National Parks and Recreation Association estimates. One in 10 kids walk or bike to school, compared with 4 in 10 in 1969, The Wall Street Journal reports. The average teen walks 5 fewer miles per week than in the 1990s. There’s a nature gap: 27 million U.S. kids lack access to a quality park near home, The Center for American Progress notes. 🖼️ The big picture: Time outside comes with essential perks for kids. While children can be active indoors, playing outside is the most effective way to get exercise, per Harvard Medical School. For children — and teens — outdoor time is typically screen-free time.
