Parenting in the workforce! Starting a business while raising kids is a decision that comes with its unique set of challenges and rewards. As a parent, the well-being and development of your children are always a top priority. However, embarking on an entrepreneurial journey can also be a profound way to model resilience, determination, and the pursuit of dreams. Balancing the demands of a startup with the responsibilities of parenthood requires careful planning, unwavering dedication, and a support network. It’s not about choosing one over the other but finding a harmonious blend where both can thrive. I’ve found that being a parent has honed my skills in multitasking, problem-solving, and prioritization – all critical elements in running a successful business. Moreover, witnessing my children observe and learn from my entrepreneurial endeavors is incredibly fulfilling. They see firsthand the value of hard work, the importance of following one’s passion, and the reality that dreams are achievable with perseverance and dedication. For all the parents out there contemplating this path, remember: your business journey can be an incredible extension of your parenting journey, filled with opportunities to grow, inspire, and leave a legacy for your children. Here’s to balancing dreams and responsibilities and making it all work! #WorkingMom #BusinessOwner #WorkLifeBalance #ParentingInBusiness

"Every great community starts with a simple intention—to connect, share, grow." 0to16 began as a humble effort, where parents could come together, share their experiences, and help each other navigate the rollercoaster of raising kids. The idea was simple: create a safe space for parents to solve their day-to-day challenges, from sleep schedules to school anxieties, from tantrums to triumphs. What started as a small community has now blossomed into something larger than we ever imagined. With over 500 parents and 22 experts on board, we’re proud of how far we’ve come. But with growth comes responsibility—and new challenges. As the community evolves, so do the needs of its members. It’s not just about content and conversations anymore. It’s about building something sustainable. Now, we find ourselves at a crossroads where we need to blend creativity with strategy, and community with business. We need to build a brand that continues to empower parents but also supports the broader mission through the business side of things. It’s not easy. Building a brand, especially one so deeply rooted in human connection, is a delicate balance. There are days when it feels overwhelming, but as we’ve learned from parenting itself, challenges are just opportunities in disguise. “The only way out is through,” and that’s the mindset we carry forward with us. Now, 0to16 is stepping into a new phase. We’re not just nurturing a community—we’re building a business supporting that community. The journey ahead may be tough, but we’ve built the foundation on trust, support, and the belief that together, we can face any challenge. Here’s to the next chapter, where creativity meets commerce, and the heart of 0to16 stays as strong as ever. We’ve got this. #CommunityBuilding #ParentingSupport #BrandBuilding #GrowthMindset #0to16Journey

Meet 👋 Lauren Sutton / Adlam, CEO and founder of Zown, a media platform for Gen Alpha all about positivity and resources to help them thrive. ⭐ 5 things worth knowing about Lauren and her business journey… 🔥 What keeps her motivated: "I passionately believe that kids need Zown. They need to know all that is good out there! And I also don’t like to fail!" 🍀 A risk she took she's now grateful for: "I passionately believe that kids need Zown. They need to know all that is good out there! And I also don’t like to fail!" 🛠 Service she can't live without: Uber Eats! 👑 Her approach to the "juggle": "I passionately believe that kids need Zown. They need to know all that is good out there! And I also don’t like to fail!" 🙋♀️ Needs right now: 1. A broader network both for the app in terms of downloads and testing and access to selected businesses who are curious about Generation Alpha and keen to understand and work with them now for the benefit of all in the future. 2. I’d love to interview businesses on their Gen Alpha awareness and strategies. 3. I’d also love to recruit 1-2 staff to help take on the physical and mental load (although need to justify by earning $ first!). 🧡 Loves Mums & Co because: "It provides a platform to connect with other Mums & Co members as well as a library of helpful resources." Monday remindss us what is possible in the world of work. So, we’ll be raising our coffee cups to #mumbitiousmondays (with thanks to the very sparkly Trenna Probert for this excellent phrase 😍). A round of applause for the women unapologetically blending their ambition with motherhood/caring responsibilities/ and the ebbs and flows of life. Starting your own business or thinking about it? "Can empathy change the race? Discover Mr. Tom’s struggle and how we can foster growth in the teens around us with kindness and understanding." 🤷♀️ Once upon a time, there was a man named Mr. Tom. Mr. Tom’s mind worked a little differently from everyone else’s. Imagine that his brain was like an old, rusty bicycle which didn’t work as well as the shiny, fast ones that others had. Because of this, people would often ask Mr. Tom to do things, but it was hard for him to remember or understand how to do them properly. He wanted to do his best, but his brain just wasn’t ready. Now, imagine if someone told Mr. Tom to run a race against people with brand new, super-fast bikes. Would it be fair? No, because his bike couldn’t go as fast. It wasn’t that Mr. Tom didn’t want to win; his bike just wasn’t as strong yet. He needed time and help to get there. In the same way, teenagers have brains that are still growing, just like a young tree trying to become strong. Their minds are full of curiosity, and they’re always exploring. Sometimes, they don’t always think about what could happen next because their brains are still figuring things out. When parents or teachers expect teenagers to make decisions like adults, it’s a bit like asking Mr. Tom to win the race on his old bike. Teenagers need time, understanding, and gentle guidance to learn how to make better choices. So, instead of being frustrated, we should be patient, like kind gardeners helping our plants grow tall. We need to water them with love, guide them when they bend too much, and remember that they are still learning every day. Teenagers aren’t fully grown adults yet; they are like little adults in training. With care, empathy, and a lot of patience, we can help them become the strong, wise adults they are meant to be.
