Creating meaningful change isn’t something that just happens—it’s intentional and co-created. It’s about understanding the world around us (inbound change) while being mindful of how our actions shape society (outbound change). ⚖️ For me, it’s also about striking the right balance between adapting to change and actively creating better futures for people and the planet. As a small agency, having an official mission or strategy might seem unnecessary or even a bit grand. But for ANTICIPATE, it’s the compass that guides everything we do. We focus on three mission parameters: cultivating futures readiness, democratizing futures thinking, and creating meaningful change. These aren’t always easy to measure, but they give purpose to our work and push us to make an impact where it matters most. 💡 But often meaningful change comes down to intention. As futurists, we’re the “outside-in” people. We help make sense of a complex world and ask the hard questions about what it all means for the organizations we work with. But we’re not just here to observe. Over time, we help those same organizations become active players in creating change—moving toward preferred futures, step by step. Lately, I’ve been thinking about trade-offs. When working with clients, do we focus on those already moving in the right direction, or do we meet others where they are—even if they’re far from where they need to be? 💫 I think it comes back to believing in intentions. Do they genuinely want to create positive change? This year has made the impact of meaningful work clear to me. I’ve been involved in projects on democracy in Eastern Europe, new visions for humanitarian NGO, and working on sustainability initiatives. Each one felt deeply important and like moving the needle just a bit in the right direction—and as a reminder of why I do what I do. 👉 What is meaningful change to you? #futures #foresight #change
