What a great couple of days at the Energy Storage Summit! I hope others enjoyed it as much as I did, with lots of familiar faces to catch up with and some insightful sessions to engage us. A particular thanks to my panel members, for providing some great discussion on the topic of "Exploring Strategies for Achieving Revenue Targets" where we focused on the challenges and solutions for getting the most out of BESS projects. On the panel were: Dr. Kai-Philipp Kairies of ACCURE Battery Intelligence Peter Bance of Origami Vasso Katsiki of Power Factors (previously InAccess) Robert Mattholie of RES Matthew Margot of Eelpower Main takeaways for me were: - No such thing as build and forget in BESS: There's plenty of levers to pull, even post-construction, when it comes to maximising revenue from an otherwise already well-defined project. - Good data will become more imporant: There's a much larger role for data and associated analytics now that the majority of GB revenues look to be coming from the more merchant elements of the market. Elements of this are likely to include things like better accuracy of state of charge monitoring - Adaptability of control: Increasingly complex role for control systems, but also the need to be tailored to site-specific technology, grid requirements and other site needs as well as flexibility to change with changing market drivers - Availability matters when trading: System availability becoming more of an important issue at many sites. - Greater focus on good asset management: The role for asset managers is gaining importance as project performance is tested in more focus through trading revenues. - Thinking about augmentation from the outset can enable futureproofing: Augmentation often falls to the bottom of the agenda in the urgency to get projects built, but there was observation that, if carefully considered in tandem between owners and contractors at tendering and early design stages, much can be done, often at limited upfront cost, to enable future augmentation should longer durations prove beneficial. I for one fully expect these to be a growing set of themes now that GB BESS revenues have firmly transitioned into a merchant world and I look forward to seeing how the sector in GB evolves to focus more on these. #energystorage Everoze Energy Storage

The company's launch comes with a $20 million seed round from prominent investors, including Sam Altman, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), and Atomic. Exowatt's flagship product, the Exowatt P3, is a modular, 3-in-1 system consisting of a heat collector, a heat battery, and a heat engine. Unlike traditional solar panels that convert sunlight directly into electricity, Exowatt's unique approach involves storing solar energy in a thermal battery, which can retain this energy for up to 24 hours.
