Last year, I was the president of my department. Over the last few weeks, the new president reached out to me for guidance, taking me down memory lane. The first thing I learnt when I became president was that leading a department was a whole different ballgame from leading a class. I was a class representative during my ND and was able to lead efficiently. I knew what to do; it was basically being an assistant - getting textbooks to my course mates, making sure attendance was marked, collecting assignments, calling lecturers, and creating the timetable for the semester. Those were my major duties. Being president was different; I wasn't just responsible for my class but the entire department. Now, I had to make sure new students settled in properly, plan events, have meetings with my executive members, other faculty executives, and SUG, seek sponsorships, delegate duties and work alongside the HOD, among other tasks. I learned a whole lot about being a leader. It was a more hands-on experience, better than I could have ever learned being a class representative. I'm super grateful for the opportunity to have led the department as the school phased out and became a university. #LeadershipLessons #DepartmentPresident #PersonalGrowth

B-School Corporate Case Competitions - 2x National Winner 3x Campus Winner/Runner-up 3x National Semi-Finalist Does it take something extraordinary to win corporate case competitions at b-school? Hardly so! Step 1️⃣ - Make a good team. While teaming up with your friends can be super fun, it won’t help if most of you have similar skill sets. Complimentary skills will make your journey easier and help you learn a couple of new things too. Without my teammates, I wouldn’t have even one of these wins. Step 2️⃣ - Don’t give up mid way. See your submission through. Bschool life is hectic and hence a handful of teams do not even make the submission. Make sure that’s not your team. Can’t emphasis enough on this!!! Step 3️⃣ - The idea or the solution. This step is subjective and varies from case to case. But trust me, if you keep at it, follow step 1 & 2, and work hard enough, some success will come your way. Sharing some of my case comp decks to help out with Step 3. Drop your email ID in the link below if interested and I’ll mail you the repository of some of my submissions. :) https://lnkd.in/gfqn95qW PS - Are case competitions really important anyway? That’s for another day to discuss! #CaseCompetitions #MBA #bschool

Time And Patience. Time is very significant to human existence. Everything is being controlled by time. There is time to be born There is time to get married There is time to die. Everything in life is well structured and organized. To be great and successful,we need to be patient. We don't need to in a hurry. We don't have to follow the success lane of another person. We all have our success time which is not the same. What we need to believe is : slow and steady win the race. With judicious use of time we shall win laurels.

🚀 Achieving victory in B-School and Corporate competitions in my 1st year of MBA 🚀 Does it sound captivating or implausible? Felt like the 💡MANTRA needed to be shared again as my peers have been asking me this question numerous times. 📍 Here’s how I clinched top positions in diverse competitions, whether Corporate or B-School✨ Follow these 5 fundamental principles: 📌 Conduct a SWOT Analysis 💪🏻: Understand your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. Only engage in competitions where your strengths align with the provided opportunities. 💡NOTE: When participating in teams, diversify by teaming up with those who add value and complement your strengths rather than just friends. 📌 Employ PURPOSEFUL Sampling 🧮: Participate in competitions where you feel confident, rather than joining every competition with the hope of winning some through sheer numbers. 💡NOTE: Understand the impact of numbers. If you participate in 5 competitions at once, your focus, determination, and resources get divided by 5. With only 20% focus, dedication, and resources, can you really make a difference and win a competition? 📌 Embrace COMMITMENT ⚡️: Dedication is paramount in winning B-School competitions. Lack of comprehensive knowledge is acceptable; what truly matters is unwavering commitment towards your objectives. 💡NOTE: Knowing your priority is the first step to embracing commitment. 📌 Understand your AUDIENCE 📰: Gather past records and analyze data. Familiarize yourself with the competition's requirements, and don't hesitate to contact the competition’s Point of Contact (POC) for any queries, no matter how trivial. 💡NOTE: Optimum utilization of resources is crucial to winning a competition. 📌 Uphold DISCIPLINE & PERSEVERANCE 📈: Discipline and perseverance are indispensable in B-School competitions. Viewing defeat as the second-best victory and refraining from giving up or quitting are crucial. Regardless of the circumstances, persevere without fixating on the outcome. 💡NOTE: There’s nothing above discipline and perseverance, as they reflect the consistency required to be successful in competitions or anything else. I trust these principles will be beneficial for you and yield maximum utility. However, it's important to note that these are not GOLDEN RULES. It’s my way of assisting my friends, and I hope these insights enhance your preparation for B-School competitions.✨ 📍 Feel free to share the secret mantras that have contributed to your success in B-School competitions. #casecompetitions #bschoolcompetitions #wins #success #mantras
