Don't freak out. AI can be helpful in the #mentalhealth field. We have a long way to go but it can be helpful in #education, assessment and intervention. For example Generative AI can point people to de-stigmatizing and #evidence-based support resources. It can also help to remind the therapist what questions to ask for complex client presentations and intake assessment. Thank you Dr. Monica Bharel, Clinical Lead, #PublicHealth and Population Health at #Google, USA for providing specific insight to understand the complexity and uncertainty of #AI in health care. #emhic24(10)

Health care systems often face persistent communication barriers that tend to impact marginalized patients. But by analyzing a broad range of data, AI has the potential to identify at-risk patients early, predict outcomes, and optimize treatment pathways. This proactive approach ensures that disadvantaged groups receive timely, tailored care, reducing hospitalizations and improving health outcomes. AI is only as good as the data it's trained on, however. in order to avoid unintended biases in AI deployment, there needs to be careful, constant oversight from AI developers, clinicians, and other relevant parties. #AI #Healthcare #HealthEquity
