Technology at the service of security: drones for fire fighting in tall buildings Drones are revolutionising firefighting, especially in skyscrapers. These devices can quickly reach high floors and difficult areas, carrying fire extinguishers to extinguish the flames in a targeted and timely manner. Equipped with thermal cameras and advanced sensors, they allow you to identify and attack the most critical points, increasing effectiveness and reducing risks for rescuers. Undoubtedly, it is a useful technology ready to spread. 👏🏽 Giuseppe, your content is always amazing and insightful, but this post takes it to another level—Vision meets reality. I’m truly in awe of its relevance. What we’re witnessing here is nothing short of revolutionary. This form of drone technology has the potential to save countless lives on a global scale as it continues to evolve. Coupled with steady advancements in construction and agriculture, it’s clear this is a versatile and impactful invention that deserves significant investment for further development. It’s ironic, isn’t it, that we live in a world where drone technology is often associated with taking lives? Posts like this remind us of its transformative potential to do just the opposite. Great post, my friend! 👏🏽

Drones have great potential to improve firefighting in tall buildings. **Technically**, they can carry extinguishers and use thermal cameras to quickly identify critical fire points, enhancing accuracy and efficiency. **Operationally**, they provide access to difficult and hazardous areas, reducing risks for firefighters. Their ability to operate quickly and focus on specific areas during emergencies makes this technology a valuable tool with a promising future in fire safety.

There are already many super high-rise buildings in the world with a height of over 400 meters, 500 meters and 600 meters. The Burj Khalifa in Dubai is over 800 meters in height. Except for One World Trade Center and Central Park Tower in New York, they are mainly respected by the Asian countries with high population density. Once a fire breaks out in a super high-rise building, the traditional method of extinguishing the fire is to rely on the internal fire protection zones of the high-rise building. When a fire occurs, fire shutter doors and roof sprinkler facilities are used to delay the rapid spread of the fire and buy time for firefighters to arrive at the scene. While the traditional method of extinguishing fires is to advance layer by layer by firefighters and use a fire ladder truck outside the building. However, its current climbing limit of fire ladder is 112 meters, created by Finland's Bronto. It will lose its effect on fire points above 120 meters. Drones and robots are more often used to search for fire points.

The disadvantage of using drones to extinguish fires is that it cannot be provided the continuous high-pressure water supply, which requires the maximum payload of the drone and the corresponding climbing height to be increased as much as possible. Currently, the maximum payload of a military drone in the world is 1,700 Kilogram, while the maximum load of civilian drones is only 500 kilograms, so some countries are studying the use of fire-fighting dry powder "missiles" to extinguish fires by continuously launching them.
