It’s actually uncommon to get things right your very first try.
Exactly—figuring it out takes a few tries… or ten… or twenty, who’s counting?
Important to remember even the pros were once beginners 🙌
True, but it’s also uncommon for us to stop trying after the first attempt, so it evens out!
I agree. Case in point, years ago I had seen my Godfather work in his small clay busts which created my interest in sculpting. One day in the early evening I started a bust of a familiar person but the more I tried, it did not happen... I got a distorted head/profile of a person. But I was intent in molding a human head and then, finding a resemblance... So I continued working on it past midnight. I had forgotten I had to be at the office by 9 a.m... It did not matter, I kept going until, bingo!, I got it right. It was already 4 a.m. and still had some time to sleep a few hours. The thrill of accomplishing the almost impossible was great... enough for me to fall sleep quickly. My motto has always been that if I cannot get a project right the first time, to keep trying--unless I am convinced it is not worth it. Yes, that can happen too.
True, be kind to yourself 💙
