Today marks Cultivo’s fifth birthday! My co-founder James Clifton and I officially formed Cultivo as a Public Benefit Corporation five years ago today. I am extremely proud of what Cultivo and our ecosystem of partners have achieved over these first five years. We’re on our way to deliver our purpose of regenerating 1% of the world’s degraded lands into health ecosystems. We haven’t yet reached “escape velocity,” but we continue to accelerate on all fronts. Cultivo’s growth has always been guided by a commitment to learning and adapting. As we celebrate this milestone, I’ve been reflecting on lessons learned—both from our early days and from more recent experiences. One theme consistently stands out: Capital flows to nature at the speed of trust. This principle resonates deeply with our landowners, investors, off-takers, and the incredible team at Cultivo.
