Please read Dr Steven Zwane’s latest article: 'Time for South Africa to rethink its approach; prioritize entrepreneurship.' I read the article and agree that the move from individual successes to broader collective action is a critical dialogue to be held. The two examples Dr Zwane outlined in his article are of- Mam Nomalizo and Mam Zodwa - these are individuals with whom many can resonate, but will they ever get their flowers or glory? These are individuals who have meaningfully contributed to SA's economy and with grit and resilience produced world class leaders whether it be (their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews). I read an article published in 1995 in The Washington Post; juxtaposing Dr Zwane’s article with Paul Taylor’s article of 1995 shows that as much as we have developed, the glass ceilings are still there and harder to overcome. The call to action is clear - developing entrepreneurial mindsets is key!

Finding the delicate equilibrium in Africa's journey towards harnessing the potential of its vibrant youth population while avoiding the creation of a vortex of inexperienced entrepreneurs. It is essential to instill the value of dedicating the proverbial 10,000 hours as an “entreployee” within an institution to master a subject area before venturing into the challenging landscape of entrepreneurship. Building a foundation rooted in a strong 'WHY' that can withstand the trials and tribulations of the entrepreneurial journey is crucial for sustainable success and impactful growth in the unforgiving wilderness of business. #Gambia #Africa #Entrepreneurship
