A lot can happen to your purified water system in 12 minutes. Why risk a system upset when you can continuously monitor TOC with Mettler's 6000TOCi or portable 450TOC analyzers. Continuous TOC monitoring allows system upsets to be seen and dealt with in real-time. How do I know? I worked for a facility that dealt with TOC contamination for months, with thousands of dollars being spent weekly on sanitation cycles of dead legs. The culprit, a bad filter O-ring that was causing leak-by once a week that our batch TOC analyzer could never pinpoint.
