TRANSPARENCY - This is an easy word to say, but not so easy to accomplish. When you are having a conversation with a client or prospect do you help them with the missing pieces of information? How much do you reveal? What questions do you ask? Why does this "need" exist? Who benefits? Is a conversation happening to find balance between the buyer and seller? In business, is trust given freely or is it earned? If balance does not exist between the buyer & seller, how can there be trust?

Rule of thumb: Never trust what your buyer says early in a discovery call. Or at least - don't take it at face-value. No, buyers aren't trying to be deceptive. Humans simply struggle to articulate the outcome they're after. They voice things in terms of "means" instead of "ends." At least at the beginning. They share the surface level answer. It's your job to get beneath the surface: And find the business pain that commands MONEY. Consistent SaaS Sales #FridayFeautre: shouting out one of my regulars for awesome sales info, Chris Orlob. It was revolutionary for me to put this together. The buyer doesn't appear to be dishonest with the criteria they cite on the discovery call, but often times you either win or lose the deal based on different or modified criteria which would indicate they were being dishonest with you from the first meeting. But it's not that they kept that from you all along; that buyer was influenced by a consultative seller to help them uncover what they need, who needs it, and why it matters. They asked Michelangelo about the Statue of David, and he said, "I created a vision of David... and simply carved away everything that was not David." Help your future customer see their vision and carve away what's not. #sales #selling

Why are sellers so focused on getting better at doing the things buyers hate? 1. Cold calls, spam, and pitch slaps. 2. Slimy persuasion and relentless persistence. 3. Setting traps to ask for the business. Instead of focusing on the things buyers want? 1. To be known and valued. 2. To feel like they made the right decision. 3. To have an informed advocate in their corner. 4. To have questions answered quickly and accurately.

"This is really interesting. Let me discuss with my team and I'll get back to you." Ugh. Every seller knows this statement as the future version of "Gone Dark." Why does this happen? Because we put too much work on the Buyer. I recently chatted with the energetic Jen Allen-Knuth about this very topic and she shares how she overcame this dead-end outcome. Seek to understand. • What are the macro conditions impacting their business? • What are the primary goals for the Company? • How is the Buyer's department connected to those goals? • How is the current solution falling short on delivering those goals? The fastest way to know what 𝗡𝗢𝗧 to do as a seller? Become a buyer. We've been looking at new tools at Untapped, Kyle being the Master Chief of delegation, lets me manage the process. There's things to be learned and things to avoid. Few things I've learned - 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 - understand the challenges, doubts buyers feel 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 - confusing pitches, lack of clarity, tonnes of questions being read from a sheet 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 - I've picked up a few talk tracks from great AE's I've met and implemented them into my calls 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 - learn what buyers 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 care about (benefits & solutions) and what internal hurdles they might face when presenting a new solution/tool. We spend so much time trying to influence the other side when most of us have never been on the other side. Pull a few of your people onto disc/demo calls if you can! Incremental gains 📈

So you’ve got a problem. Or, well, more specifically, your CLIENT has a problem. The question now becomes: Exactly how BIG is that problem? Because if you’re in business... you're in the business to selling SOLUTIONS. So your best bet is to find their ENORMOUS, irritating, "I'll do anything to fix this!" problem. This is where the ** "2AM Letter" ** comes in. ... What keeps your ideal client up at night? ... What are they worrying about internally when they’re trying to pretend that everything is A-OK? ... What’s the big, flashing sign that they absolutely can’t ignore? Because if you can find that, the sale becomes simple.

Objection 3: “IT’S TOO EXPENSIVE.” Emphasize the return on investment or the benefits of your product/service to justify the price. I lost a lot of deals due to time before I learned how to move deals faster. Here are three ways to accelerate deals: 1) Make sure you tie to a big problem All businesses have many fires. They only solve the ones that threaten to burn down the whole thing while ignoring the smaller ones. The video will teach you how to identify “big” problems. 2) Motivate your buyer People are inherently selfish. Buyers who believe your solution will elevate their status will push harder than those “just doing their job.” I go deeper into how you can motivate your buyer in the video. 3) Remove the friction Buying is hard (and time-consuming). The easier you make it for your buyer, the more likely they will continue moving forward. The key steps to removing friction are in the video, so you can accelerate your deals starting this week. Objections can be hard to hear. The key is knowing how to listen to them and respond appropriately. Essentially, there are four types of buyer objections: ▪️ Need: The buyer doesn’t yet perceive, or doesn’t yet admit, the need to solve a problem. ▪️ Urgency: The buyer doesn’t yet see why the issue is pressing. ▪️ Trust: The buyer feels uncertainty about the seller, their solution, their company, or their outcomes. ▪️ Money: The buyer communicates that money is going to be an issue. We recommend that sellers use a four-step process for responding to objections: 1. Listen fully to the objection 2. Understand the objection completely 3. Respond properly 4. Confirm you’ve satisfied the objection This process works for any objection, but specific responses will vary depending on the objection. The seller’s response is critical. Some sellers tend to give in right away if a buyer raises any objection.
