My goal is to help you make excellence in your mentoring relationship a personal priority and be more reflective about your own role as a mentor. I invite you to delve more deeply into understanding your role in a mentoring relationship and how you can more effectively facilitate the learning of your mentee. Before you embark on your journey through the mentoring process, I want to share these thoughts about the nature of mentoring work: • Mentoring can be a powerful growth experience for both mentor and mentee. Mentors will learn new things about their mentee, themselves, and their organizations. • Mentoring is a process of engagement. No one can mentor without connection. In fact, mentoring is most successful when it is done collaboratively. Commitment by and engagement of mentoring partners is a key element in establishing, maintaining, and experiencing successful mentoring relationships. • Facilitating successful mentoring is a reflective practice that takes preparation and dedication. It begins with self-learning. Taking the time to prepare for the relationship adds value to it. • Mentoring with staying power focuses on the learners, the learning process, and the learning. • When mentoring is consciously and conscientiously grounded in principles of learning, the likelihood that the mentoring relationship will become a satisfactory learning relationship for both partners dramatically improves. Mentoring can be a joy, and it is always a privilege. Make it a priority, learn as much as you can, commit time and attention to each of your mentoring relationships, and continue to learn and grow as a mentor. #Mentorship #MentoringWorks #MentoringMatters

Mentoring is a powerful tool for personal and professional growth. It involves a supportive learning relationship where an experienced individual provides guidance, knowledge, and support to a less experienced person. Here are some key points to keep in mind: - Fuel-efficient mentoring is an effective way to mentor without burning out. Setting boundaries, budgeting time, and using virtual meetings are some of the ways to achieve this. - Mentoring involves several stages, from establishing the relationship to achieving the mentee's goals. Each stage is important and requires careful attention. - Mentoring can help with career development, skill enhancement, and expanding professional networks. It's a win-win for both the mentor and the mentee. - There are various types of mentoring, including traditional one-on-one mentoring, group mentoring, and peer mentoring. It's important to consider what type of mentoring relationship will best suit your needs and establish a productive and mutually beneficial connection. If you're looking to become a mentor or find one, take the time to consider your needs and goals. With the right mindset and approach, mentoring can be a valuable experience for everyone involved. #mentoring #professionaldevelopment #careeradvancement

Yesterday we celebrated World Mentoring Day! 🤝 Mentoring programs are an extraordinary opportunity for personal development. Through the exchange of experiences, you have the chance to see reality from a different perspective, open up to other ways of solving the challenges that are hard to come up with on your own, being closed in your information bubble. The year 2024 was marked by mentoring for me. I had an amazing opportunity to establish relationships with fantastic people and draw from their experience! Both as a mentor and a mentee. 1. #WomenAtHaleon mentoring program - as a mentor and mentee, 2. Diverse Reverse Mentoring launched by DEI community within Haleon - as a mentor, 3. LEAD Network Europe mentoring program - as a mentor. Mentoring is a bilateral relationship. As a mentee, you have the opportunity to learn new things, discover different approaches to challenges, and draw from the mentor's experience. As a mentor, you can pay forward what you received by sharing your experience and watching the mentee grow stronger - Areti Angelea you're a star! 💫 However, not only that, as a mentor you can also benefit from the mentee's openness, develop based on feedback, and broaden your awareness of the challenges others face. This way, you can develop not only yourself but also support others! If I had to recommend just one thing to focus on in 2025 to accelerate your development, it would be mentoring! Check if there are mentoring programs available in your company. If not, look outside the company, e.g. the LEAD Network Europe mentoring program. Or maybe you already have experience with mentoring? If so, please share your insights to inspiring others! #HaleonPolandHub #Mentoring

Mentoring is a valuable practice that is essential for individual development. It involves an experienced mentor providing guidance, support, and knowledge to a less experienced mentee. The goal is to foster personal and professional growth through psychosocial and career support. Mentoring is not just about career guidance; it also involves providing friendship and acceptance. A successful mentorship benefits both parties involved. While mentees gain insights and knowledge, mentors also experience growth through teaching and sharing. Unlike coaching, mentoring focuses on a deeper, more personal relationship for long-term development. Finding the right mentor is crucial. Look for someone who offers not just instruction but also inspiration and camaraderie. The relationship should be based on curiosity and mutual growth. Mentorship has evolved into a reciprocal and collaborative process where both mentor and mentee contribute and benefit. If you're considering entering a mentoring relationship or enhancing an existing one, ensure a fruitful and growth-oriented experience by keeping these aspects in mind. #Mentoring #Development #CareerGrowth

What’s in it for me/you?: New study explores how motives shape #mentoring https://lnkd.in/eEj8iRaH Implications for Mentoring Programs: 💡 Mentor training and supervision should discuss the role of motivation on mentee outcomes and further strategies to address motivation 💡 Mentoring programs may want to consider assessing mentor motivation prior to program recruitment, to maximize mentor engagement and mentee outcomes 💡 Programs may further consider partnering with researchers to assess mentor motivation longitudinally, and examine the connection between motivation type and mentee outcomes over time

From Mentorloop: 1. Companies with mentoring programs had profits that were 18% better than average, while those without mentoring programs had profits that were 45% worse than the average. 2. 97% of individuals with a mentor say they find the experience to be a valuable one. 3. 89% of those who have been mentored say they’ll go on to mentor others. Day 12 of the Amazing If Skills Sprint is on the topic of Mentoring. There are many known benefits to mentoring. It helps create clarity and builds up your confidence so that you're equipped to face new challenges, overcome setbacks and grow. Mentoring also helps demystify the path to success when mentors are willing to share their mistakes and bumps they've encountered along the way. Two ideas for action to increase your mentoring opportunities and impact: 1. Use in-the-moment mentors. It can be daunting to commit to a mentoring relationship of say, 6 months. Don't let this get in the way. Consider an informal mentor, a one-off conversation to get the advice you need. Ask yourself: - what advice do I need now? - whose knowledge do I need? 2. Playback key takeaways. Whether you have a one-off conversation or a longer mentoring arrangement, share your 3 key takeaways with your mentor. Let them know how they've helped you shift mindsets and take action. Ask yourself: - what might have taken me longer to accomplish without my mentor? - how am I thinking differently as a result of our discussions? Easily one of the most rewarding things for a mentor is knowing: - what resonated with you - the impact they've contributed to - how you've grown from it. I plan to write a few more posts on mentoring from the perspective of a mentee and a mentor once the Skills Sprint finishes up at the end of August. Who Are You Mentoring?💡🎯 This question is not just for you—it's for me as well. Recent discussions have reminded me of the importance of mentorship. We all need mentors at different stages in life, whether early, mid, or late in our careers. The benefits of mentorship are invaluable: you build on the experiences and knowledge of others, learn which paths to follow, and understand which mistakes to avoid. Mentoring provides you with a roadmap for risk management and helps you mitigate hurdles before they arise. So, even when unexpected challenges occur, you're better equipped to navigate them. And here's the best part: there's no age limit to mentorship. Just as building a house starts with a foundation, so does building a career. Our lives might not immediately resemble the "dream house" we envision, but every constructive decision gets us closer to realizing our goals. Mentorship requires action—a commitment to sharing our knowledge and expertise. My excuse used to be, "Who needs the knowledge I have?" But that's an underestimation of one's own potential. Someone out there needs the insights, skills, and experiences you've accumulated. By sharing that knowledge, you not only contribute to someone else's growth but also challenge yourself to be better. So, I ask again: who are you mentoring? #mentoring #mentorship #growthmindset

Mentoring today is a partnership between individuals of varying ages, stages, and experiences. In group mentoring, individuals rely on one or more individuals to facilitate the learning of a group of mentees. Sometimes referred to as mentoring circles, facilitated group mentoring can involve diverse individuals from different parts of the organization, individuals with similar interests and experiences, or even an intact work team. The mentor-facilitator might periodically introduce a new topic according to a predetermined curriculum, the group might agree on topics to discuss as they become relevant, or each session might focus solely on the goals of mentees without having a topical focus. In all instances, the role of the mentor is to facilitate learning. The mentor’s job is to ask questions to keep the dialogue thought provoking and meaningful, share personal experiences, provide feedback, and serve as a sounding board. The concept of mentoring triads or quads is a variation on this theme. As the name suggests, three or four people are involved: with one mentor and two or three mentees who all learn from one another. Note: If you find yourself facilitating a mentoring group or mentoring circle, you will want to make sure all members of the group are aware of their role and responsibility and have a clear sense of the purpose, desired outcomes, and plan for moving forward. Co-creating a group work plan is a good way to begin. How has group mentoring played a transformative role in your professional journey? #MentoringTip #Mentorship #MentoringMatters
