Mobility in cities needs to improve! Current numbers are just frightening: 🔹 130 hours lost per driver/year in the most congested cities 🔹 1.3 million deaths annually from traffic accidents 🔹 90% of urban populations exposed to harmful emissions With 2 billion additional people expected to live in cities by 2050, the need for sustainable mobility solutions is more critical than ever before. It's clear that Urban Mobility needs a transformation – NOW. Based on our project experience in the past 10 years, helping cities to move towards a more sustainable future, we've summarized our findings in our brand-new report. I'm thrilled to announce the publication of my latest article, "Readiness for transformation towards smart sustainable city models: residents’ perspective", in the journal of Smart and Sustainable Built Environment. This study addresses the critical question: Are the world’s largest urban agglomerations—megacities and metacities—ready to transition to smarter, more sustainable models? Despite the growing interest in smart sustainable cities, there’s been limited empirical evidence on public perceptions, progress, and adoption challenges—until now. This research offers valuable empirical evidence for policymakers, urban planners, and decision-makers, emphasizing the importance of aligning initiatives with residents' aspirations.
