🌍 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲! 🌍 Last month, I had the privilege of presenting “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨” at the exclusive 𝗞𝗼𝗿-𝗙𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗥&𝗗 in Helsinki. The event, themed “𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸’𝘴 𝘊𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 & 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘦𝘴,” provided an incredible opportunity to connect with top Korean and Finnish institutions, all committed to a sustainable future. 💡 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 Led by Asst. Prof. Min-Kyu Paek from Aalto University, this forum marked a pivotal step in climate tech collaboration as South Korea prepares to join 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 as the first East Asian associate member. Together, we shared our research interests and expertise in 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆, 𝗲𝗰𝗼-𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗴𝘆, and 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, exploring opportunities to align our efforts and drive innovation. At SCI-MAT Platform, LUT University, our focus includes pioneering sustainable business models, valorization of waste streams, and recycling solutions to enhance resource efficiency and the circularity of critical materials. During the forum, I briefly introduced the EU-funded RELiEF 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, sharing high-level insights into our approach. Engaging with experts like Dr. Fiseha Tesfaye (Metso Metals Oy), Mr. Byungmin Youn (Tunne Arkkitehdit), Dr. Jaeryoung Song (National Institute of Green Technology), and Mr. Brian Kim (Kim Venturous) was truly inspiring. Dr. Song’s presentation on “𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘰𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘒𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥” emphasized the powerful collaborative potential linking Finland and Korea 🇫🇮🤝🇰🇷. 🚀 𝗘𝗨 𝘃𝘀. 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗮—𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻  One standout discussion centered on policy dynamics: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨’𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝘃𝘀. 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗮’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵. This dual perspective opens new avenues for impactful circular economy projects where policy and industry intersect—transforming challenges into opportunities. 🙏 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Special thanks to the organizers and to Asst. Prof. Min-Kyu Paek for inviting me to this transformative event. I am excited about the path ahead and look forward to the innovations that Korea-Finland collaborations will bring to the world of climate tech. #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #BatteryRecycling #ResearchCollaboration #LUTscimat #LUTUniversity #LithiumRELiEF
