Our 2024 Christmas campaign is my final collaboration with Foyer Design. You never really think how much work goes into a campaign like this, and ultimately, is the time spent on it, worth the money raised? 💛 With this one we wanted donors to feel they were contributing towards something specific, so we narrowed it down to young people (the back and forth of creating a young person who is everyone and no one at the same time was a feat in itself) and specific items they might need (need and not want, even though everyone should be allowed something fun at Christmas). 💙 We wanted the message to be uplifting, allowing donors to feel pride in their contribution, but we also wanted people to donate because they can and want to, not because they have to. I think that is truly Aberdeen Foyer's Advantaged Thinking legacy in action. 💚 Nobody should need to prove their worth and value to have their basic necessities met, but tying the campaign to Aberdeen Foyer's mission was important for clarity and notoriety - Donate today to fuel their potential tomorrow. When someone recommends a charity that sounds like a good cause, sometimes I wonder if that particular charity can really make a difference with my donation. Will it just offset something else in the budget, or fund an additional marketing campaign? Is this the best way to use my donation this year? If you are an American or if you are one of the 150 million foreign visitors to the US National Forests, I can assure you that a donation to the National Forest Foundation will make a difference in protecting one of our most important national treasures, our National Forests. If you are concerned about climate change, if you love to ski or hunt or fish, if you love our wildlife or our beautiful vistas, or if you just love America, your donation can help preserve these things that you love for your children and their children. Our government is not fully funding the costs of maintaining our forests in a healthy and sustainable way. Almost every American visits a National Forest once per year (sometimes without knowing it) and many visit or vacation for weeks or months. Most of these visits are FREE. Our tax dollars pay for a small fraction of the costs needed to properly manage our forests into the future. I hope that someday, our society will recognize the true costs of maintaining these incredible playgrounds and expect to pay a small amount for our use. After serving on the board for a year, I am increasing my donations to the NFF, because I can see the impact that we are having all across the country. These investments are urgent. The effects of climate change are having an immediate impact. Unnatural wildfires and invasive flora and fauna are killing the very resource we need to balance our carbon impact now and into the future. Today, we are able to MATCH your donation.
