Push Away the Expectations of a Traditional Christmas Meal Christmas lunch doesn't have to be a traditional Sunday roast if that’s not what you enjoy. The festive season is about comfort and joy, not about fitting into societal expectations. If your perfect Christmas meal is something simple like potato waffles and beans, chicken nuggets, or toast, then make that your meal. What to consider: Take the pressure off having to serve the typical Christmas dishes. Everyone has different tastes and sensory preferences, so why not focus on what makes you feel happy and relaxed? Why it matters: The aim is to make Christmas as stress-free as possible, and sometimes that means letting go of expectations about food. When you eat what you love, you can enjoy the day without the added stress of a meal that doesn’t work for you. This Christmas, embrace your favourite foods and enjoy the day in a way that makes you feel safe and comfortable. #ChristmasSelfCare #FoodYourWay #NeurodivergentWellbeing #ManageExpectations #PersonalChoice

🍁 My First Thanksgiving: Lessons in Gratitude, Branding, and Dessert 🥧 It’s 7:54 AM here, and while Thanksgiving dinner isn’t until later, I’m already thinking about pie. (Pumpkin? Pecan? Sweet potato? Yes, please.) This is my first-ever Thanksgiving since I’m in the U.S., and as a Filipina, it feels like such a novelty. Back home, Thanksgiving isn’t a thing—our Christmas season starts in September and pretty much steamrolls over every other holiday. Now, I have a confession: I’m not a turkey person. (Don’t cancel me!) But the desserts? That’s where I thrive. Thanksgiving sweets remind me a lot of branding—done well, they’re unforgettable, comforting, and keep people coming back for more. Much like the essence of Thanksgiving, great branding is about connection, consistency, and gratitude. It’s not just about showing up; it’s about how you make people feel when you do. The most memorable brands, like the best holiday meals, leave a lasting impression—and maybe a craving for seconds. As I gear up for my first turkey-free (but pie-filled) Thanksgiving, I’m reminded that gratitude is the ultimate brand message. It never goes out of style, and it’s something we could all use a little more of, personally and professionally. Wishing you all a day filled with warmth, good company, and desserts worth writing about. 😊 #TitaFridayPH #Thanksgiving2024 #GratitudeIsKey #FilipinaInTheUS #BrandingAndDessert #FirstThanksgiving

Is your bar or restaurant operation ready? Black(out) Wednesday is coming soon! If Black Friday is the day for spending and Thanksgiving Thursday is the day for eating, Black Wednesday completes the trifecta of indulgence. This article from @DrinkNation calls out four factors that bring together one of the biggest drinking nights of the year: https://zurl.co/55fS 🍗 Thanksgiving is an all-inclusive, all-American holiday. Nearly everyone (outside foodservice) has Thanksgiving Day off work. Regardless of your religion, region, cultural heritage, the Thanksgiving holiday applies. 🍗 You're not doing anything else. By Wednesday night, all the day-before cooking has been done, and none of the day-of cooking has started. It's a great time to go out for a drink and relax. 🍗 Everyone is home. Family and friends have gathered for the holiday, and Wednesday night is a great way to kick off your time together. 🍗 Thanksgiving is a great recovery day. With an agenda of eating carbohydrates, sitting on the sofa and napping, Turkey Day provides everything a hangover-sufferer could ask for. As a flavorful mixer or a premium nonalcoholic cocktail for the designated driver, Longbottom & Co. Virgin Mary is a smashing good solution to Drinksgiving sales. 🦃 In the United States, many of us are preparing for the big Thanksgiving Day feast. It is one of my favorite holidays. I make the turkey, stuffing and apple pie to take to my nephew's house each year. When people hear that I make all of that they say, "Why don't you just host it?" Well, it has become family tradition that I make those items. 👨👩👦👦 I've become known for the turkey because of the gravy it makes due to the white wine, shallots and dried dates (prunes). The family calls it "crack gravy" because once you have it you can't have another. 🧑🍳 I found the recipe years ago in a Food Network magazine featuring Rachel Ray. Another tradition is my 🍎Paper Bag Apple Pie🥧. Yes, it is actually cooked in a paper bag! Last year, I did try using brown craft paper (not advised). It caused a bit of a fire 🔥 in the oven, but we managed to save the pie. I make the pie at home and transport it. We put it in the oven when we sit down for dinner and it cooks while we eat and then are able to serve warm apple pie🥧with ice cream for dessert. I'm curious: 🦃 What are your favorite Thanksgiving traditions or food? 🥧 What's your favorite pie or dessert for Thanksgiving? 🗒 Any recipes you'd like to share? 🤔(share in comments) 📸: My Thanksgiving turkey from last year #Thanksgiving #TurkeyDay #FamilyTraditions #Foodie #HomeCooking #ThanksgivingRecipes #GratefulHeart #FamilyTime #CookingWithLove #ThanksgivingPrep
