New Post: Beijing half marathon: Top three stripped of medals after investigation - https://lnkd.in/g6AZg4pP The top three finishers of the Beijing half marathon have been stripped of their medals following an investigation into the controversial result. It was alleged that the three African athletes deliberately allowed China's star runner He Jie to win Sunday's raceFootage appeared, external to show Kenya's Robert Keter and Willy Mnangat and Ethiopia's Dejene Hailu pointing to the line and slowing down to wave He past.Mnangat told the BBC that the trio ran as pacemakers. But the race's organising committee, who led the investigation, said that none of the three had been officially registered as pacemakers for He, so their actions breached the competition rules. The committee said "all trophies, medals and bonuses will be recovered". A 3000-year-old Greek Olympics is more than just sports and competition. Revived in 1896 by Pierre de Coubertin, the Olympiad was once used as a time count rather than years. The five interconnected circles of the Olympics symbolize the unity and solidarity of athletes from of the world. Equestrian activities, colloquially referred to as horse riding, have traditionally been a popular competitive pursuit. The rise of pari-mutuel wagering, a system of betting on horse racing outcomes, necessitated the development of mechanical record-keeping methods to efficiently process and update wagering pools in real time. This year, the Paris Olympics features 32 sports, with Breakdancing making its debut. While the U.S. and China lead the way, the Olympic spirit thrives in every nation. #olympics #paris #india #sports #facts #insights #trending #fenty #brand #sponsership #ekvity

𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀. This morning, Sifan Hassan crossed the finish line as the Olympic marathon champion, adding a gold medal to her extraordinary collection. Not only did she conquer the marathon Gold, but she also secured Bronze medals in both the 5.000 m and 10.000 m races earlier this week. Sometimes, it's not about focusing on one goal but aiming to GET IT ALL! Of course, there will be critics saying, "It will never work... you're trying to do too many things at the same time... Bla bla bla…😉" Yet, her strategy of running the 5.000 m and 10.000 m races proved to be a unique and effective preparation method. These “short” races build pace and speed on top of endurance. This speed work likely gave Hassan the edge in a nail-biting sprint to the finish line. Additionally, winning Bronze twice can make an athlete crave the Gold even more. Bronze may start to feel like "just missed it," fuelling a stronger desire and determination to achieve Gold (at least for some of us...😉). This remarkable achievement highlights a valuable perspective: combining multiple activities and trying to achieve multiple goals at the same time can lead to extraordinary success, both in sports and the professional world. For example, academics benefit from being active in companies and vice versa. Serial entrepreneurs benefit from having multiple ventures simultaneously or sequentially. Such combos are not for everyone (and that is ok!) and demands a tremendous amount of mental strength and endurance, which Sifan Hassan certainly proved today. DEEP RESPECT and gratitude for one of the most sensational marathon finishes ever. To all my Dutch friends and colleagues: Congratulations on this great testimony to Dutch ambition and sportsmanship. Sifan Hassan is one of yours, and that is something to be immensely proud of. Let's draw inspiration from Hassan's story to challenge ourselves to pursue multiple goals simultaneously in our own lives! 🌟 #goals #wins #running #olympics

In the U.S. Women’s Open Golf Championship, five Japanese players finished in the top ten, with Yuka Saso claiming victory and Hinako Shibuno securing second place. We spoke to Hitoshi Takakuwa of the golf media outlet ALBA Net to uncover the secrets behind this impressive performance. - https://lnkd.in/gfpFzZPf TOKYO, Jun 04 (News On Japan) - In the U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship, five Japanese players finished in the top ten, with Yuka Saso claiming victory and Hinako Shibuno securing second place. We spoke to Hitoshi Takakuwa of the golf media outlet ALBA Net to uncover the secrets behind this impressive performance. The first secret lies in the 'Three Brilliant Generations.' This concept refers to three distinct generations of Japanese golfers. The 'Golden Generation' includes players like Shibuno, who were inspired by the achievements of Ai Miyazato. Following them is the 'Platinum Generation,' featuring players like Ayaka Furue, motivated by the successes of the Golden Generation. The youngest, the 'Diamond Generation,' includes players such as Reo Takeda, who are striving to excel in the sport. The five players who made it into the top ten at the U.S. Women's Open belong to these generations, showcasing the depth of talent across these age groups. The second secret is found in 'Domestic Tournament Reforms.' Historically, domestic tournaments in Japan were three-day events. However, they have recently been extended to four days, aligning with international standards. Additionally, more challenging courses are now being used to help players enhance their skills, preparing them better for international competitions. Source: ANN https://lnkd.in/gaKTeVyT Source

Gold again! Well done to Matt Wearn OAM / OLY . 8 years of global domination! In another Golden day for Australia it was so pleasing to see Matt back up his Gold in Tokyo with another Gold in France. But what a mental game it was with Matt’s Olympic final postponed for two days due to lack of wind and the his final race had two false starts due to the wind not playing ball. Yet every new start he came back and did it all again. Having sailed the ILCA (Laser Class) and had our boys sail them competitively we have witnessed Matt’s journey up close. What I can honestly say is this Gold is as much for his parents and family as it is for Matt. Being from WA this meant many km’s crossing Australia for many, many years plus more funding and travel for the international regattas. Trust me when I say the lower profile sports like sailing mean the family is funding 90% of it in terms of money, time and resources. (Some families call it Credit Card Racing). Hoping Matt and his wonderful coaching team (Michael Blackburn & Rafa Trujillo legends) and family can celebrate once again. As an FYI Australia has won the Gold in this class now for the last four Olympics starting with Tom Slingsby and then my good friend Tom Burton (who features in my book It’s All Possible) and then Matt for the last two. Pleasing also is Matt contracted Long Covid but managed his way out of it to win again. Keep dreaming, keep moving forward. Anything is Possible. #sailing #yachting #olympics #mindset
