After talking about the meaning of high-key in art in a recent post, I today want to discuss low-key images. Low-key value art is known for creating a dramatic, eerie and mysterious atmosphere. Many low-key paintings, photographs, digital artworks, and also low-key drawings make use of these foundation values to convey their intended message. So, what does low-key mean in art, for all these different media? Read on to find out more about the low-key value art definition, as well as the value contrast definition in art. https://lnkd.in/emz-t8bE

Aquarelle and #copic markers, Title: "Embrace of Evolution: The Art of Becoming" In a world where tradition and modernity collide, art stands as a beacon of introspection and transformation. This evocative painting, with its hauntingly beautiful figure shrouded in layers of texture and color, encapsulates the journey of self-discovery. The abstract elements—intersecting lines and washes of color—serve as metaphors for the complexities and intersections of our experiences. "In order to love who you are, you cannot hate the experiences that shape you." This profound statement resonates through the image, urging viewers to embrace their past as a crucial part of their identity. The figure, seemingly caught between concealment and revelation, embodies the tension between the old and the new, the familiar and the unknown. As we stand on the cusp of a new era, this artwork invites us to reflect on our own evolution. It speaks to a generation yearning for authenticity, struggling to balance the weight of tradition with the allure of modernity. Through its vivid hues and intricate patterns, the painting transcends cultural boundaries, offering a universal message of acceptance and growth. Art today is more important than ever. It not only captures the zeitgeist but also challenges us to engage deeply with our own narratives. Let this piece be a reminder that our scars are part of our story, and through art, we find the courage to embrace them. Painting on a skissbok paper, size; 14,8cm x 21cm. From Sweden. #Evolution #Modern #Cultural #Discovery #Universal #Authentic #Journey #ZeitgeistArt #Transformative #education #artist #business #kizuruarts

New work available on Saatchi Art. 'Circles Draw Us', 2024. Watercolour, acrylic and paper collage on art board. 15" x 20" Unframed. My abstract paintings and collages explore mystic geometry, symbols and patterns, working predominately in watercolours and acrylics. My work is informed by my graphic design background, and my spiritual practice of sound and meditation. Drawing on the mystic sound of singing bowls, my pieces exude melodic vibrations in which colours transcend the visual into the auditory. I see a relationship with the healing properties of sound and geometric rhythms, and my work with the sound bowls overlaps with my geometric artwork. I blend the inner and outer character traits of spirituality with the relationship between simple shapes and forms.

Perspectives. This idea of seeing the same thing from different points of view from different walks of life and through different experiences. Can any of us see the same thing in the same way? You may recall, when we first opened Behn Gallery, Jim and I opened with a side-by-side collection of images we shared as a part of our Perspectives Edition. The theme was Ireland, but it was an exploration of how uniquely we all experience the world around us. Subtle nuances of our personalized experience means that even something as simple as the taste of an apple or the feeling of a leaf has slight variations for each of us. Perspectives illustrates how important each of our POV truly is. That even when viewing the same exact thing, we "see" if in different ways. Each exciting, each beautiful and each valid. We do one another a service of respect to ask one another about their experience instead of trying to impose our own. We're excited to revisit this concept with a new collection coming soon! Stay tuned to find out what it is. In the meantime, stop in to see the original Ireland: Perspectives collection or visit our website to see some of the images. In addition to offering limited edition fine art pieces from this collection, we also offer a handmade folio, as well as a book that complement and further evolve not just the piece of art, but the message and idea that live behind it. #fineart #gallery #behngallery #carmel #indiana #perspective #POV #powerofart #livebetterthroughart #photography #newart #connections #meaningfulart

Experimental notation calendar 2024 by @jesusdesignedme ✨️ "The calendar consists of 12 cards, the content of each of which is devoted to one method of notation and its creator. Roman numerals are used for the month counter because in music they represent the steps of the scale and the tone on which the chord is built, but the dynamic grid appeared as a result of an individual approach to the interpretation of each mode of recording." curated by @eugenie__jenie @hsedesign #type01 #calendardesign #graphicdesign #typography #typographydesign

Personal Art Collection: Chinese calligraphy artist Chu Chu (lax) Original work (without frame) Size approx.: 430mmW x 320mmH Chinese Calligrapher, Painter and Photographer Chu Chu revitalizes traditional Chinese literati painting by combining elements from the past with a forward-thinking sensibility. Her ink-on-paper drawings feature calligraphic sutras in an unconventional format; the text is incorporated into the backdrop of the images. Chu’s contemporary aesthetic liberates ink art from tradition, merging classical compositions with modern sensuousness and emotion. In her photographs, Chu creates timeless, seemingly immaterial spaces. Her black-and-white images feature eerie depictions of flowers, branches, and housewares set against shadowy backgrounds. The end result is both unsettling and meditative, portraying familiar objects through an unfamiliar lens. #Looking for someone who might be interested.
