Yasmin was just four years old when she found her mum Joanne Wilson dead in the living room of their home on Stanley Close in Seacombe on October 22, 2002 and she wants to see her mum’s killer brought to justice. Elsewhere, an inspection into Aintree Hospital has found it does not always have enough staff to deliver care and that people were not always cared for in the right place. We also have news of a mixed reaction to King Charles opening a food bank distribution hub in Kirkby yesterday, which he did via video link. Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend. I’m off next week so I’ll leave you with Katie Westwood and Liam Thorp.

💔 We are committed to seeking justice for those who have suffered unimaginable loss. Recently, we filed a lawsuit on behalf of Kenneth and Rochelle Williams and Angela Gaboury, the family and estate administrators of Abraham Williams, whose tragic death on April 30, 2023, was attributed to an anaphylactic reaction caused by allergens in his meal at Beauty & Essex, located in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The lawsuit alleges negligence on the part of Beauty & Essex, The Cosmopolitan, Clark County Fire Department, and Community Ambulance, asserting that critical mistakes in food preparation, medical response, and emergency care contributed to this heartbreaking outcome. Our firm stands with the Williams family during this incredibly difficult time as they continue to grieve their loss. We are dedicated to holding those responsible accountable and ensuring measures are taken to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future. 💼 Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this loss. 💔 📍2250 Corporate Circle #390 Henderson, NV 89074 📱 (702) 434-8282 🌐 cmtrialattorneys.com #LawOffice #LegalServices#LawyersOfInstagram #LawFirm #LegalAdvice #AttorneysAtLaw #LegalExperts #womanowned #christanmorristrailattorneys #LegalMatters #lasvegaslaw #personalinjurylaw #trial #caraccidents #slipandfall #smallbusiness #lasvegas

𝐖𝐀𝐊𝐄-𝐔𝐏 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝𝐲 Two young lives were lost, and countless questions unanswered On May 19, two IT professionals, Ashwini and Anish, were brutally taken from us in a senseless tragedy. A 17-year-old minor, driving an unregistered Porsche at 150 km/h, snatched away their futures. But that's not the only outrage - the circumstances surrounding this incident will leave you stunned: - An unregistered car delivered by a showroom? - A minor driving without a license, enabled by parents? - A club serving alcohol to a minor? - Traffic police failing to notice an overspeeding, unregistered car for months? - VIP treatment and swift bail for the minor, while common people face delays? Ordinarily, traffic police are quick to penalize us for minor infractions they aggressively fine us for not wearing helmets, not carrying licenses, or PUC certificates. So, why didn’t they take action on a flashy car without a number plate speeding on a deserted road at night? Moreover, when the police arrested the culprit who destroyed two families, they provided him with biryani, pizza, and burgers behind closed doors. The shameless, wealthy brat eats without any guilt for taking two lives. Two lives were lost, and the court granted bail on a Sunday as if awarding a prize, with conditions like: - Writing a 300-word long essay, - Taking advice from a psychiatrist, - Learning traffic rules for 15 days. More punishment is given in schools. Here, two youngsters died. Yet here, bail is granted in 15 hours. Astonishing. Why does the law treat people with privilege differently? This incident is a stark reminder of the systemic flaws that prioritize privilege over accountability. This tragedy is a wake-up call for all of us to reflect on our responsibilities as citizens. My heart goes out to the families of the victims. As a society, we must stand with them in their fight for justice and ensure the guilty are held accountable. Let this incident remind us that we all have a role in creating a safer and more responsible society. Only then can we prevent such tragedies from happening again. Rest in peace, Ashwini and Aneesh. May your loss awaken our collective conscience to build a better society for all. Share this post maximum to raise awareness to ensure that those responsible face the full force of the law & justice is served! Let's honour Ashwini and Anish's memories by fighting for a safer & fairer society. #JusticeForAshwiniAndAnish #PuneIncident #SafetyFirst #IndianJudiciary #Corruption

Lessons learnt - Fisk episode 3 This week’s episode of Fisk highlighted the growing issue of elder financial abuse, demonstrated by Melcome’s father changing his Will leaving everything to his carer (who claimed to be his partner of six months) and excluding his son. At the time of making his Will he was heavily medicated, terminally ill, and his carer had restricted him from seeing his son in person, allowing only a weekly Zoom meeting. Such cases, though extreme, are not uncommon. In such situations, affected individuals may challenge a Will based on the following grounds: - The deceased’s lack of testamentary capacity; or - Lack of knowledge and approval; or - Undue influence; or - Suspicious circumstances. These claims include an analysis of all the facts and circumstances - the age of the Will maker, their medical conditions and medications, considering who they were reliant on or estranged from, who the witnesses to the Will were as well as when and where the Will was made. #iamtheFisk #capacity #elderabuse

The officers responded to a call of a brown man stabbing someone. Was that subject actually ever arrested as he ultimately was the cause of the tragedy. The problems with this case were obviously seen at the bail proceedings in 2021 where the presiding judge deemed the case extremely weak. Sadly such information was subjected to a publication ban. The suspect information of a brown man stabbing someone never indicated a family man with his pregnant wife and baby. Those paremeters didn’t form grounds for such interaction in the first place other than perhaps warning Mr. Zameer and family to be careful. The next question would be why was a 55 year old officer with health conditions put in this position in the first place. No offence but he had more than paid his duties over the years and management should have placed him in a less dangerous position. The case regrettably resulted in the death of this officer. There is no doubt that anger, grief and some entitlement of reckoning led to a “tunnel vision” investigation in which common sense ignored the actual facts and circumstances. This was a homicide and there is no way it was simply left in the hands of the major crime officers who attended the call. There is no way notes were done separately without any input from each other and others. The actual forensics confirmed their evidence did not match the reality of what actually happened. It was simply a bad arrest process that conflicts with best practice. Everyone knows in a plain clothes capacity that you should always have a uniform presence when possible in making such arrests. You need to position vehicles properly to hinder escape. Time is always on the side of police. Sadly it was a dogs breakfast that had a horrible but avoidable outcome. Sadly the case really should have been reviewed from the onset with the bail judges concerns. Most definitely once the forensics came through. https://lnkd.in/eY5hdAEf

It never gets better, every time when I read about a domestic homicide, it stays in my mind for days! What could have been done? What could have prevented it? How could I help? The case of Kristina Joksimovic, who suffered an unimaginable fate at the hands of her husband, serves as a harrowing reminder of the complexities and dangers of coercive control that often go unnoticed. These shocking details are not just headlines; they reflect a deep-seated issue in our society. On how men entrap women in intimate relationships. This tragedy underscores the critical lack of protective measures for those at risk and the subtle yet pervasive nature of coercive control, which can "trap" individuals in cycles of abuse. Rather than working on personal goals by different individual organisations, it is important to work together to advocate for better protections and support systems for all individuals facing coercive control. #DomesticViolenceAwareness #CoerciveControl #EndViolence #Advocacy #SupportSurvivors #homicidetimeline #8stages

Do you share an appreciation for others? Do you take your safety and security for granted? There are many services provided to us that I feel go unnoticed and underappreciated. 🚓👮♂️ One of those is the services provided by our local law enforcement professionals. 🚔👮♂️ When you dismiss the Hollywood and mainstream media depiction🦸 of law enforcement in America, you find some of the most dedicated, courageous, and selfless people🙋♂️ you will ever meet. These men and women see and deal with situations most people only see glorified in movies and TV shows. That takes a toll on these amazing humans who happen to wear uniforms and choose to move toward danger and not run from it. 🏃♂️➡️💣 Unfortunately, every year we see law enforcement professionals crumble😞 under the weight of their profession and commit suicide. 🪦 More law enforcement officers commit suicide than are killed in the line of duty each year! In recognition of this being National Suicide Awareness Month and tomorrow, September 26, being National Law Enforcement Suicide Prevention Day, I want to provide you with four simple ways you can express your appreciation for your local law enforcement professionals. It can make a difference in their lives. Four ways to express your appreciation: ➡️ Wave at them when you see them in public👋 ➡️ Thank them for "doing what they do"🤝👍 ➡️ Tell a friend or neighbor what you appreciate about them🗣️ ➡️ Email or write a letter to the CEO of the organization✍️📨 How will you show appreciation for your local law enforcement? The Dark Night Online | COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO: COMMOTION is a subtle word that was recently used by a law enforcement trainer to describe the hijinks and skullduggery that some operators can get up to around victims of crime. VICTIMS: WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMEONE SOLICITS YOU? Whether commotion takes the form of an unregistered lawyer with pretentions of capability or any other form; self-interest is a core issue. VICTIM CENTRICITY puts the dignity of the victim at the centre of every action and each and every step towards justice and restitution. In my latest blog post I speak to the tactics of predatory people who prey on vulnerable victims to profit from misery. Operators who are unreasonable, unethical and who will stop at nothing to feather their own nest by plucking YOUR feathers. Perhaps it's time for Old McDonald to tell them to pluck off? Did I go too far? NOT FAR ENOUGH! Prepare the rotisserie. Let's KFC these mother flockers. Are you still with me? Hang in there. COMMOTION can look like the rooster egging people on by deploying tactical defamation, libel and slander to rubbish their 'competition'. There is no harmony on the farm when a belligerent cockerel flaps their wings and grips their claws into their trashy nature, all within the context of an already awful situation for confused victims whose savings have bought the farm. The yolk is on the loud, unruly Cockerell. Eventually they will be unclucky and the truth will come home to roost, cook their goose and hello colonel here is some KFC for your tucker box. https://lnkd.in/d_EPSdBQ
