I couldn't put a price on what I've learned being in a growing & impactful agency in the games biz. Today is a celebration. I'm SO proud of what Kat Schreiber 🔜 Gamescom & 🌵 Mark Purdy 🔜 Gamescom have built, having watched them lay it brick by brick. I'm honoured to be a part of the tapestry. I looked at Disobey's values when I applied right out of university & thought, "damn, these people are cool as hell" - I still think that, but I was quick to realise how impactful our values are on the work that we do after meeting Disobey's clients on day 1 as an eager intern 👇 1. Nobody in game development or publishing is in this industry by chance. Everything is a passion project. Giving a shit is integral to helping make career highlights for the people who choose us to be their partners. 2. Fuck the noise. The path less travelled is exhilarating & rewards you deeply. Often this looks like saying no to things your intuition tells you is the safe or obvious path. "out of the box thinking" is an outdated term, I prefer "radical perspective." 3. You should never stop learning. People notice when you've left no stone unturned, people notice when you're eager to implement & improve. Here's to the next 5 🚀

As much as I'd love to confidently declare, "See you at DreamHack!" the weather seems to have other plans. 🌩️☔ Should the skies decide to clear and the clouds part, making my journey to Dallas as smooth as Mario sliding down a green pipe... What's your NYT Games morning routine? Here's mine. 1. Connections or Wordle as the warm up. If I see that Connections is going to be a rough start I pivot to Wordle and then come back to Connections. 2. The Mini. And I try to beat the clock. 3. Strands. This is my new fave and I try to get through it with as few hints as possible. 4. Tiles. It's...fine? I wish they would introduce more variations. Can someone The New York Times read this and pass this feedback along? I do this every morning and I know a lot of my friends do too. So I think it's an interesting move for LinkedIn to introduce Games on the platform. Daniel Roth wants to "give people a way to exercise their brains while taking a quick break, but also give people a reason to connect with others." We're all already here, for better or worse. Will this push LinkedIn further into the social space? Who here has already played? #LinkedInGames

June 11, 2024 11 months. That’s how long I had gone dark on LinkedIn. 11 months later I’m back and here’s a little sneak preview of what’s to come 🤩 Last time I posted on LinkedIn was early July 2023. Back then I felt blessed and humbled to participate in the F (https://lnkd.in/g3PZfT8p National Conference in Atlanta and my last post was a simple recap of the event. The only problem? I didn’t share what came before …nor what came after… Well this time it will be different! My team and I at VGCD Academy, we’d gone dark for 11 months and we’ve had the time to execute on the overall development strategy. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 Your vibe attracts your tribe. For a while, I was wondering why engagement with my posts is this low. I questioned my skills. Wild thoughts crept in—Am I posting nonsense? Why is my audience not growing? Why are people not engaging with my post? I've studied the top creators; they aren't using some magical or special tools, just attracting their flock. Not everyone clicks with your vibe, and that's okay. I'm here for meaningful connections. My public posts may have few likes and comments, but the effort is real—sleepless nights and hard work for valuable content. Some shine with millions of views, but my goal was 2000 followers and genuine connections before this year ends. I failed in numbers but succeeded in IMPACT with my tribe. Thank You everyone who is a part of my small network on LinkedIn. 2024 was a year of growth. Excited to deepen my sense of shared belonging & deeper connections ahead!
