The return of Premier League action this weekend brought about some stand out moments, many of which coming in additional time... Our #ExtraAddedTime campaign this month sees a £250 donation to Movember for each of these Premier League added time moments. With the support of Dimitar Berbatov, we're continuing to ask football fans to take #ExtraAddedTime to have conversations with friends, family and teammates to help with their mental health. We are delighted to have raised a total of £7,500 so far after a total of 30 key moments taking place post-90 minutes, 16 of which coming over the weekend. Watch Berbatov's call to keep the conversation going in the below Sky News coverage of the campaign. You can contribute to the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/eNMpGYWQ #MentalHealth #LiveScore #Movember #Berbatov

In 3 weeks time around 125 people (almost 5% of all entries) will be taking part in the GEAR10K around King's Lynn wearing the Colours of the 8:56 Foundation raising awareness and support for Men's Mental Health and I've managed to somehow complete the application form to be one of them... Now... For those that know me, I think it's pretty obvious to say I'm not the epitome of an athletic specimen, there will be more walking and waddling than running but that's not really the point... So you know where this is heading... If you would consider sponsoring me that would be absolutely fabulous... £8:56 can do a lot for Men and Mental Health, just think of the difference you can make... One Donation is 1 person at our Men's Time Socials helping to reduce risk of isolation & loneliness Five Donations pays for 1 session of Talking Therapy for someone when they need it (we provide immediate access should it be required) Ten Donations will cover 3 months costs for our Time To Talk Support Group Twenty Donations would give someone the opportunity to attend a Wellness Weekend in the Autumn Twenty Five Donations would allow us to train a Mental Health First Aider - supporting local Sports Clubs and the wider Community. Any donation will make a huge difference to someone and together we can fight the stigma that surrounds Men and Mental Health #ItsTimeToTalk https://lnkd.in/ersDaSgE

Hi everyone! I don't often post on LinkedIn (or any social media for that matter!) so when I do, it's usually for something I think is really important. Some may know that I started a journey back in January of this year - a journey to improve my physical health, fitness & mental health. So, I joined the Merthyr Man v Fat Football club, with the aim of shedding a few pounds and getting a bit more exercise (anything was more than I was doing then!) What has blown me away, is how much more the club is than just weight loss and football - it's a group of 100+ (and growing) men who have fully embraced the idea of community, friendship and support - nothing like anything I've ever experienced before. I could wax lyrical about how special this group is all day, but what I'm leading to is what has become a real cornerstone of this group. Back in November, the group sadly lost a member, Alex Meek. Although I never got to meet Alex, from hearing stories of him around the club, it is clear how highly he was thought of and how his passing sent shockwaves throughout the whole community. Sometimes it takes a tragedy like this to open our eyes and break down the stigma that still exists for men to talk about their feelings and worries. And that is why charity organisations such as Signposted Cymru are so important. Signposted Cymru is an initial and immediate intervention with early prevention for individuals struggling and needing support with mental health and well-being issues. This August I'm joining in with a challenge to do 150km in 30 days. My £30 donation/registration will provide 1 counselling session to an individual who is in desperate need of help. If you can spare a few £££s your donation would be hugely appreciated - or better still, why not join me and do the challenge yourself! (link in comments below 👇) Thanks for taking the time to read this, and please, please, please share this with your network. More money raised = More people helped! Thank you 🙏 #150kmin30days #everydonationhelps #meek6

Talk2mebro was developed to help reduce the number of males who die to suicide in Australia. Through early intervention, the aim is to create societal change by reducing the stigma around suicide and getting men to feel comfortable talking about what they are going through emotionally and mentally. To do this, Talk2mebro need to raise funds and through May they are running the “Stride to Survive” challenge. Their aim is to raise $100,000 and run 3,139km collectively. 3,139 is a poignant figure that reflects the lives lost to suicide in Australia each year. This dual challenge not only seeks to fund their vital initiatives but also to honour each life lost to suicide turning statistics into a rallying cry for action and awareness. This May, myself Maddison Morley and her brother Lachlan will each run 100km and aim to raise $1,000. While we know that times are tough, we would be extremely appreciative of donations of any amount, if you are unable donate we would also love for you to share the post to your connections, friends and family because raising awareness of this great cause is as good as raising money! If you click on the link below you can choose to donate individually or to the team. https://lnkd.in/g4xKeVgG

One of my colleagues is raising funds for mens mental health. At some point in life we all have suffered with some type of mental health challenge. The difference is men are more unlikely to talk about it. If you can, I would love it if you can donate to the link below (remember it’s tax deductible) and make sure you check in on the people you love to ensure they are “okay”. Especially the men in your life. Thank you so much! More details below:- We need to help as many struggling men out there who are doing it tough mentally. Supporting WNOW is our way of trying to reduce the number of suicide (60 men globally, every hour) to zero DONATE HERE:-

I wanted to share the continued brilliant work being done by Time 2 Talk, one of the charities being support by the Charity Event. Time 2 Talk (T2T) was originally developed following the sad passing of a young African-Caribbean man from Derby who had suffered with some mental health difficulties. The initial aim of the group was to support men who historically had low levels of engagement with mental health with the vital support services. The group aims and intends to: 1. Create a safe, supportive, and confidential space for all communities 2. Hold monthly community meetings that provide opportunities to promote community engagement. 3. To organise separate sessions to enable people to talk about there experiences wellness and mental health difficulties. With the funds generated as part of the event, the aim is to create a wider reach and the ability to create pod casts to share experience and stories to wider communities. Sometimes hearing the experience from others can be enough for someone to seek help. Please show you support; even small amounts can make a massive difference.

What's more important than children being able to play without criticism, pressure or judgement? I can't think of many things more critical for the development of emotionally healthy children. Providing safe environments for children to grow is our responsibility as adults. Projecting our sh*t from the sidelines of a children's football match, whether that's shouting at officials, the opposition, coaches, our nearest and dearest or berating or showing disappointment to those little people we then take home, is not healthy, safe or conducive to healthy development on any level for anyone, least of all the 22 'children playing a game'. This is why I am supporting the #LetUsPlayFootball campaign. A not for profit social endeavour to highlight this issue and support the adults and clubs involved to take a step back, reevaluate and appreciate their little ones for who and where they are in that moment, a child playing a game. Culture change is the long game but we need to start somewhere and that's where you come in. How important do you think a campaign like this is? Are you willing to be part of the village it takes to raise a child? Is this worth £1 of your hard earned? Yes? No? What's it got to do with me? If you want to 'play' your part, please check out our Kickstarter and donate, even just a quid, so we can start to engage, support, protect, encourage and change how children enjoy playing their game the way they want, and need, to. Thank you for reading and considering being part of the village. https://lnkd.in/eYgz9kiG

It's that time again... This month, I’m taking part in Movember, not just for a bit of fun, but to highlight an urgent issue: suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 40. This is why charities like Movember are so vital—they support men’s mental health and wellbeing. If you’re unable to donate this month, I’d encourage you to spend some time with someone who may need it. A conversation, a check-in, or simply showing you care can make a big difference. Let’s look out for each other, and remember that every bit of support counts. #Movember #MensHealth #MentalHealthAwareness
