When faced with obstacles or challenges in life, it is common for the outcome to be a 50/50 chance of success or failure. It will tell you whether you should be afraid of failing again and not want to go further or if you are determined to believe that this is possible but try a different approach or angle, depending on the size of the obstacle or the weight of the challenge. Ultimately, after this period of introspection, it will be necessary to acknowledge the reasons why it might not have worked the previous few times and reconsider the approach. It would be a good idea to have a complete proof process, have a confident attitude, and trust yourself. Breathe deeply, then continue. We build a stronger service for the community together. Understanding ourselves to better understand others: In the heart of the Elder care community, we find not just individuals, but a variety of identities, each as unique and intricate as the next. As care partners, we're not just tasked with tending to physical needs; we're entrusted with nurturing the essence of personhood that makes each individual who they are. Identity is about the sum of our experiences, our passions, and the tapestry of relationships and cultures that shape us. It's about the stories we carry, the joys we cherish, and the lessons we've learned along the way. In this journey as care partners, it's essential to recognize and celebrate this richness of identity and to foster an environment where each person feels seen, heard, and valued for who they are. It's about honoring the passions that light up the eyes and the histories that shape our lives. Honoring your identity and the identity of those around you goes beyond recognition—it's about genuine connection. Imagine the wealth of knowledge and wisdom we could uncover if we approached each other with genuine curiosity, eager to learn about the experiences and passions that make us uniquely who we are. People are complex beings, and therein lies the beauty of humanity. We all bring something different to the table, and it's in embracing this diversity that we truly thrive. In each moment you commit to fostering an environment of respect and understanding, you are consciously creating space for the fullness of interests and experiences that connect us as human beings. #EmbraceIdentity #healthcareadministration #persondirectedcare #carepartnerteams #HealthcareLeadership

Self abandonment comes up as a problem for people when they come from backgrounds where safety is a more critical issue than authenticity. So, I intentionally take myself out one day a week. Self-abandonment in caregiving: The paradox of security-seeking ↓ Causes of self-abandonment: 1. Guilt and obligation → Fear of being seen as selfish 2. Childhood patterns → Repeating learned behaviors ↓ Manifestations of self-abandonment: 3. Neglecting personal needs → Physical and emotional exhaustion 4.Loss of identity → Merging with caregiver role ↓ Self-repair strategies: 5. Boundary-setting → Balancing care for others and self 6. Embracing "NO" → Reclaiming personal power and time → Example 1: "No, I can't take on organizing mom’s medical records right now. I'm already managing his daily care and need time for myself." → Example 2: " I am going to take myself to the movie, and laugh for 2 hrs." ↓ Embracing self-care isn't selfish, it's essential → Sustainable caregiving requires self-nurturing → Balancing self-care and care for others leads to healthier relationships #Selfcare #caringfor #Inclusion #leadership #MCH #Micheleina
