Question: Why is sensor location important for washroom fixtures?🚨 Answer: It eliminates so much user frustration!😡 In public washrooms you will often see that fixture sensors are on the base of the fixture, meaning the sensor range points outward. As a result, they require exact hand positioning to activate, making for a tedious user experience. With the Channel system, the sensor is integrated into the head of the fixture and placed in front of where the soap, water or air is coming out - the sensor range is then facing down. This allows for a broad range of hand positions for activation, making it easy to operate for all washroom users without frustration. Great lighting design shows off the architecture and intended subject and doesn't get in the way. Some light fixtures are beautiful and worthy of being displayed, but the end goal is to provide proper illumination. That usually means drawing less attention to the light source and draw more attention to the subject. Sometimes ego gets in the way.
