🌼 Day 2 of consistency challenge How did you overcome that challenging period of your life *Consultant:You need start* learning you have about 3weeks to your exam that is OSCE(Objective Structured Clinical examination) ,it's going to be an oral exam, Clinical year is not like preclinical oo,the exam here is practical:These were the exact words my Consultant told my group mates and I after about 4weeks into our surgery rotation Oral exam??? How will I go about? Will I even be able to do it ? These were the the very questions I kept asking myself as days went by and the exam date was fast approaching , Just the thought of OSCE could send chills down my spine What made matters worse was when I asked some seniors colleagues about their first osce experience and hmm almost everyone's report was not that good ,I knew myself and how I fidget around when put under the slightest pressure It was really a challenging moment for me I knew the time left for preparation was not enough but I still had to do something ,I couldn't afford to fail my first exam in clinical year First, work on myself,on how to maintain composure Secondly, perfect my clinical skills ,so I spoke to my academic mentors about my fears Oh God bless them They encouraged me each day and took me through series of practice sessions, presentations and a whole lot, in the space of just 3weeks About 3days to the exam ,I felt so prepared for the exam and was even the one encouraging my mates not be afraid Fast forward, the exam date came ,oh Jesus and I over delivered, I was commended at almost every station I went to,I finished the exam with a very appreciable mark What I learnt in this challenging moment was that.. 1.The role of good mentors can never be underemphasized,Infact, every body needs a mentor 2.It's never too late to get on board,I had few weeks to prepare but I was still able to do something 3 Face your fears 5.People's experience should necessarily not define mine Can my med students here share their first Osce experiences? #medstudentlinkedintribe #mslt #consistencychallengewithdrlinkedin

Getting ready for our September cohort for Virtual Hand to Shoulder Fellowship, LLC and differential tissue assessment is typically very challenging for learners to grasp. We tend to memorize special tests as early learners, but becoming a specialist means you also understand the mechanics behind the assessment. This level of understanding goes so much further in clinical practice, not just for evaluation, but treatment as well. The fellowship invests quite a bit of time and effort on foundational knowledge because it’s the fundamentals that can make the difference in helping our patients achieve optimal outcomes. It’s also harder to feel burnt out when you know you’re making a positive difference in your patient’s recovery. #handtherapy #handtherapists #occupationaltherapists #physicaltherapists #certifiedhandtherapists #handsurgeons #physiotherapists #lifelonglearners #clinicalexcellence #virtualhandfellowship
