Today, we celebrate India’s remarkable strides in #technology and #innovation. It’s a day to honor the visionaries, scientists, and innovators who have propelled our nation into the forefront of technological advancement. On this day in 1998, #India achieved historic milestones that forever changed our technological landscape. With Operation Shakti, we demonstrated our nuclear capabilities, marking our entry into the elite group of nuclear-powered nations. Led by the esteemed late President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, our scientist showcased unparalleled expertise and dedication. The Prime Minister at the time, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, declared May 11 as a day of significant achievement for the country, and National Technology Day was observed for the first time on May 11, 1999. National Technology Day serves as a reminder of our country’s unwavering commitment to technological progress. It is our responsibility to maintain and optimize for our continued advancement. Specialized skills are required to manage these technologies effectively. By investing in education and training, fostering #collaboration between industry and academia, and promoting a culture of continuous learning, we can equip our workforce with the skills needed to navigate the complexities of emerging technologies. Let’s commemorate this day by acknowledging the brilliance behind these achievements and reaffirming our dedication to harnessing technology for the betterment of society. How do you know it works? I asked Pinuccia Contino this week Pinuccia is Deputy to the Director for Consumers and Head of Unit for "Product Safety and Rapid Alert System" at the European Commission. I got very curious about her work because of how she speaks about product safety, which is fundamentally about people, and the fact she is an ambassador for applied compassion. We discussed how she trained herself and built capacity in her team. How she built a culture of psychological safety. In our individual pursuits, we may achieve modest accomplishments, but it is through collaboration and working together that we unlock our true potential for greatness. By recognizing our interdependence and embracing collaboration, we create a more inclusive and compassionate society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

 When we listen and celebrate what is both common and different, we become wiser, more inclusive, and better as an organization. Creativity and diversity are the corner stones of a successful culture and drive success and innovation.
