We still use terms such as ambassadors, grassroots riders, teams, etc. It just made sense to lump them into one category or term for ease of communication ... Loam Family. 3. We're not stuck on the term Loam Family. It works for now. We know there are other terms companies use, like mob, mafia, etc. It's meant to be fun. 4. Did you think we’d forget all the two headed tassie, married your cousin jokes ? Did you think we’d forget being left off the map and constantly underestimated ? 150 years is a long time to build a chip on our shoulder and you are all about to find out just how passionate we are about our state. I am constantly reminding my kids - now they just say it to me - that they are tassie tough. If you grew up here, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Constantly being told you aren’t good enough and to prove yourself on the “mainland”. Always being doubted and very rarely celebrated. When you break out and do succeed, a lot of your peers will think you’re arrogant, a tall poppy… This is not a great way to get the best out of someone. But for the ones who break through there is a competitive fire, stoic resilience and an uncompromising attitude behind the affable smile and down to earth demeanor - Tassie Tough So when you come down to visit and watch your team. Just remember what’s behind the smile at the coffee shop and the friendly banter as you walk around the market. We want you to have a great time and enjoy everything our amazing island has to offer. Just don’t think that your team is going to enjoy one minute on our ground, our island fortress… Win or lose the rest of the AFL is going to be reminded what tassie tough is and I hope they hate every minute of it… #afl #tassiedevils #tasmania
