Rethink Ireland, in collaboration with Cork City Council - Comhairle Cathrach Chorcaí, is thrilled to announce the support of five pioneering non-profit projects addressing green and digital transitions in Cork through the SEFIT- Ireland & Italy (Social Ecosystems for Fair and Inclusive Transitions) Challenge Fund. This €400,000 fund, part of a 10-month pilot between Cork and Turin, Italy, co-funded by the European Union, aims to foster an equitable and inclusive future by supporting initiatives that bridge community and technology gaps. These projects include diverse innovations from digital training for the Deaf community by Cork Deaf Enterprises to environmental education by ECO-UNESCO, reflecting a broad commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth. Each project, running from August 2024 to May 2025, will receive financial and non-financial support to scale their social impact. Initiatives like the International Garden by the Cork Migrant Centre and Cork Community TV, The Toy Library's sustainable toy exchange are set to transform local communities by promoting environmental sustainability and digital inclusivity. Lord Mayor Dan Boyle and Rethink Ireland's Senior Philanthropy Manager, Padraic Vallely, commend these projects as models of community-driven change, enhancing Cork's resilience and inclusivity.
