✈️ The First civilian #SuperSonic plane to fly in 20 years: Boom Supersonic #XB1 #MaidenFlight 🌎 As the video in this post shows, #BoomSupersonic's demonstrator aircraft, XB-1, took off for the first time during a successful test flight at the #MojaveAirandSpacePort in #Mojave, California on Mar. 22, 2024, the same airspace that hosted many historic first flights, including the flights of the Bell #X1, the North American #X15, and the Lockheed Martin #SR71 #Blackbird. 💺 Boom’s overall mission is to launch #Overture, the first supersonic commercial aircraft since the #Concorde ended operations 20 years ago. The company has secured contracts with major airlines like American Airlines and United Airlines, as well as manufacturing and development partnerships with Florida Turbine Technologies Inc., a Kratos Company and GE Additive. 🚀 However, some of the most significant news lately has been the loss of partnerships, specifically with Rolls-Royce. Sabertooth seems like an amazing AUV. Elevated Launch is developing a concept to integrate AUV´s in the communication systems and electric systems of off shore wind power plants and keep them as residential vehicles, ready for remote and instant deployment. The AUV´s could then be used for civil missions as to inspect foundations and underwater infrastructure, or if desired, be sent on other surveillance and reconnaisance missons. Is Sabretooh capable to fulful this application?
