In an article by Adam Grant he discusses his changed perspective on the Olympics. He once viewed the games as a celebration of individual excellence, but now sees them as a testament to the power of collaboration and shared purpose. This shift in mindset resonates with the educational philosophy at Verde Valley School, where the focus is on developing not just individual talent, but also the collective growth of our diverse community. As we prepare our students to navigate a complex world, it’s worth asking: To what extent should personal achievements be valued over collective contributions? This question challenges us to rethink the balance between individual success and the greater good—both in education and beyond. #verdevalleyschool

This quote by James Naismith, "The invention of basketball was not an accident. It was developed to meet a need. Those boys simply would not play 'Drop the Handkerchief,'" highlights the intentionality behind creating basketball. Naismith was tasked with solving a problem: how to engage rowdy students indoors during the cold winter months when outdoor sports were impractical. Recognizing their need for a physical outlet, he designed a game that was not only fun but also safe and fair, ensuring that all players could participate without excessive physical contact. This led to the creation of basketball, which utilized a soccer ball and two peach baskets as goals, establishing a new way for students to channel their energy constructively. This quote serves as a reminder that great innovations often arise from specific needs and challenges. Naismith's foresight in developing basketball not only addressed the immediate demands of his students but also laid the foundation for a sport that would grow into a global phenomenon. Today, basketball is played and celebrated worldwide, proving that thoughtful solutions can lead to extraordinary outcomes. #Basketball #JamesNaismith #Innovation #mondaymotivation #CarletonPlaceChamber

Parents and Coaches who focus on making impact each shift rather than goals and scoring constantly, see better results in their athletes. If athletes can manage the pressure great but many can’t and they’ll just shut down. We have tools that equip athletes to eat pressure for breakfast. This is a different brain than 25 years ago. This brain can’t handle too many things going on at once or too many directions at once. Our eight week program is designed to speed up cognitive thought processing and reduce social media and phone time that is slowing the brain and processing down. Excessive video watching is a especially causing harm to the brain by shrinking the hippocampus. The simply math adds up, the less we talk, the less we are able to process thoughts, emotions, directions and perform. Learn why OHL, NHL and NCAA athletes and teams are doing our programs. 🏀 Day 17 of the Sports Challenge: Who is the most innovative athlete or brand in sports and why? When I think about innovation in sports, LeBron James easily is the first name that comes to mind. Of course, we all know him as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, but what truly sets him apart is the way he’s built an empire beyond the game. LeBron has built an empire, but he didn’t do it alone. One of the most admirable things about his journey is how he’s empowered his friends to grow alongside him. He brought his inner circle into his business ventures, giving them opportunities to build their own legacies. From Maverick Carter, who co-founded SpringHill Company with LeBron, to Rich Paul, who’s now one of the most successful sports agents in the world, LeBron has shown the power of betting on the people closest to you. Through SpringHill Company, LeBron has amplified diverse voices in media, and with Uninterrupted, he’s created a platform for athletes to take control of their stories. His most impactful move though might be the I PROMISE School, where he’s providing education and resources for at-risk children and their families, leaving a lasting legacy far beyond basketball. LeBron isn’t just innovative in business; he’s innovative in the way he leads and uplifts others. His story reminds us that true success is about creating opportunities not just for yourself but for everyone around you. #LinkedInSportsChallenge #TheAthleteEntrepreneurFoundation #InnovationInSports #LeBronJames

Yesterday was special... Together with RJ Martino and his incredible team at FAU Sports Properties, we hosted our Thrive In '25 event—a gathering of passionate, driven individuals striving to lead, grow, and improve by just 1% every day. What struck me most wasn’t just the ideas shared but the energy in the room. Being surrounded by people who are hungry to learn—not just for themselves but to uplift their teams, businesses, and communities—reminded me why I love what I do. True success starts with a willingness to grow. What made this event even more special was sharing the stage with my boy, Marc Nudelberg. There’s nothing better than building on these moments together and inspiring others to grow. Marc’s insights and passion always push me to think bigger, and yesterday was no exception. A huge thank you to RJ and the FAU Sports Properties team for making this possible and to everyone who joined us. Let’s keep striving, together...Because when we get 1% better every day, the results compound into something extraordinary. . . #modernbusiness #bizdev #pipeline #growth #coaching
