Beyond the balance sheets, Ratan Tata is widely acclaimed for his philanthropy. Approximately 65% of the revenues made by the Tata Group are allocated to charitable trusts in India. His foundation TATA group is one of India’s largest charitable trusts that support education, rural development and health. Despite Tata Group global success and dominance, Ratan Tata himself holds relatively lesser personal wealth as compared to other business tycoons. According to IIFL, Wealth India Rich list, Ratan Tata’s wealth was estimated at Rs 3,500 crore which means that his net worth was not even 0.5% of the total wealth of all the other Tata Group WION (World Is One News)
