A lot of the kids in care have gone through trauma and have or they might have been exposed to situations that affect their ability to learn and they may have an i.e. P i.e. PS: are individual educational plans for children that may have special needs and that could be anything from a diagnosed ADHD ADD or that can be also gifted children. So it runs the gamut. It could be geared toward emotional support, actual academic support. And it's really the school's responsibility to make sure that these kids have an education. That's equal to other children. It's very common for children to have Ieps, and it's a. It's a meeting where there's a lot of people, administration, teachers involved, and then it's just the parents. We can attend those meetings with them. We can advocate for the children. We can contact the school if there's issues. We can talk to the guidance counselors. I've done that, or the social workers to address whatever the kiddo might need. Some of the things that might come out of an ISP meeting are considerations for testing. Some kids might, you know, not have any issues learning. But when it comes to tests, they need extra support. So they might be taken out of the classroom. They might be allowed to spend time one-on-one with another teacher. They're allowed more time to finish tests and quizzes and that type of thing. It could be emotional support. If a kid is triggered while in the classroom and they're having some kind of dysregulation or just not feeling comfortable in the classroom, they can take a step out and they can go visit the guidance counselor. They can go to another teacher that they've identified, and then they can. Really learn the coping skills to let them have a good, healthy, positive educational experience.
